Country Rebels Trick Riding Team The Country Rebels are a new trick riding team created by Katie Connolley and Dayna Powell. We will be available for hire as of 2012.

Katie Connolley

Katie is 17 and started performing last summer at various events. She fell in love with trick riding at age 9, but didn't get a chance to try it until she was 13 when she attended one of Jerri Duce's trick riding camps. She attended three camps over the course of two years learning everything she possibly could about the sport. In 2010 she purchased her first trick saddle and star

ted teaching her horse how to accept the fact that she would no longer be simply sitting on him. Spring of 2011 she was invited to ride in the first annual Onoway Wild West Show in June. Dayna Powell

Dayna is 16 and has just started trick riding this past winter. She fell in love with trick riding while watching the Graham Sisters perform at the Stony Plain rodeo in 2004. While her history with trick riding may be short, her history with horses is not. Her parents had her on the back of a horse befor she could even walk, and often when she was little she could be found sleeping on the back of whichever horse would cooperate. When she was 8 she competed in her first rodeo and hasn't stopped since. She has also been a member of North Country Junior Rodeo Association, Alberta Provincial Gymkhana Association, Busby and Haylakes Gymkhana, and Barrhead light horse 4-H club.
