How we move matters and good things come to those who wait! It’s been two years since the order was placed, and we’re excited to announce we're modernizing our transit fleet with new buses built for accessibility and sustainability.

Three new buses are joining Orangeville Transit. These buses are designed with riders in mind.

Here's what you can expect:

• bike racks for combining transit with cycling
• digital screens showing bus lines and timing
• a modern, comfortable interior with room for up to 40 riders
• clean diesel technology for lower emissions than traditional diesel buses
• SmartRider™ ramp technology that lowers to different heights and self-levels, making it easier and safer to get on and off the bus

These upgrades are one more step toward a transit system that works for everyone.

The Hansen Blvd route extension and new buses will launch Oct. 8!

ICYMI: Sustainable Orangeville, in collaboration with Credit Valley Conservation, is once again giving away free saplings. 🌱

On Oct. 3 from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. head out to 49 Townline (the old train station) to pick up a free sapling.

Every tree planted in our community contributes to increased biodiversity, improved climate resilience and long-term canopy growth. And it all starts in your own backyard.

Here’s what you need to know:

🌱 you must live in Orangeville
🌱 one tree per household
🌱 trees are first-come, first-served
🌱 trees must be planted on private property

Tree and shrub species are first come, first served:

• birch, paper
• cedar, white
• maple, sugar
• nannyberry (shrub)
• oak, red
• serviceberry, smooth (shrub)

Do you have questions about voting in Orangeville’s municipal and school board election? Need to update your voter information or get on the voters list for Orangeville?

An Election Information Centre will be open at Town Hall on the following dates:

• Saturday, Sept. 26 – 8 to 11 a.m.
• Saturday, Oct. 3 – 8 to 11 a.m.
• Monday, Oct. 5 to Thursday, Oct. 8 – open 8:30 a.m. to 7 p.m.

No appointment is needed—just drop by to speak to someone from our Clerks team.

Orangeville Fire Services welcomed its new tower truck (Tower 15) with a traditional Push-In Ceremony on Wednesday, September 23, marking the truck’s official entry into service. 🚒

This new aerial tower truck replaces the previous ladder truck (Ladder 15) and will support firefighters as they respond to emergencies in our community.

Here is what our community needs to know:

🔴the new aerial truck supports emergency response and community safety in Orangeville
🔴the Push-In Ceremony is a fire service tradition that dates back to the days when firefighters pushed horse-drawn equipment back into the station by hand and symbolizes teamwork, pride and collective effort
🔴firefighters also completed a ceremonial water transfer from the previous truck to the new one, recognizing the service of the outgoing vehicle

Thank you to Orangeville Fire Services members, mayor and council, Town staff and community partners who joined us in recognizing this milestone.

The Santa Claus parade might still be two months away, but it’s not too early to start planning your float!

Do you have a favourite Christmas fairy tale, story or character? This year, we’re inviting float participants to bring the magic to life with a Storybook Christmas theme. Gingerbread houses and snow queens, reindeer or toy soldiers—however you want to tell your story, we can’t wait to see it!

Float registration is open now.

The parade will be held on Nov. 21 at 5 p.m.
