Stronger Connections. Stronger Response.
Today, Caledon\Dufferin Victim Services hosted our Community Leadership for Coordinated Response Summit, bringing together community leaders, frontline professionals and service providers from across Dufferin County and the Town of Caledon.
And what a day it was!
We came together to talk about recognizing interpersonal violence, exploitation and human trafficking, understanding the services available in our communities, and strengthening how we respond when someone needs support.
But what made today so meaningful were the conversations, the questions, the sharing of experiences and, most importantly, the connections being made between organizations.
The feedback throughout the day was incredible, and it reinforced something we believe strongly at CDVS: no single organization can do this work alone.
We were honoured to welcome the Honourable Sylvia Jones, Deputy Premier of Ontario, Minister of Health and MPP for Dufferin–Caledon; Lisa Post, Warden of Dufferin County; and Councillor Russo, representing Mayor Annette Groves and the Town of Caledon. Thank you for joining us and for your continued support of the work we do in our communities.
A heartfelt thank you to our core partners, Family Transition Place, The Sunrise Center, Caledon OPP and Dufferin OPP, for sharing their expertise and helping lead these important conversations.
Thank you as well to Ontario Support Dog Services for providing additional support throughout the event.
We are also grateful to our community sponsors, Zehrs, Tim Hortons and Watermaker Orangeville, and to our Board, staff, volunteers and everyone who helped bring this day together.
And to everyone who attended, thank you for showing up, participating so openly and being willing to look at how we can work better together.
As CDVS marks 30 years of serving our communities, today was an opportunity to look forward and strengthen the relationships that will shape our response in the years ahead.
The stronger our connections are to one another, the stronger the response will be for the person who needs us.
