Bass Lake is open for day use all year!

Here is what you need to know:

🅿️ Winter Parking: 1132 Line 15 North, Oro-Medonte, Ontario.
🎟️ Vehicles must have a valid permit.
🐾 Pets must remain on leash at all times, for your safety and theirs.
🗑️ Help keep the park clean by using the provided garbage cans.

We will not be monitoring messages on social media until May 2027, until then:

Daily Vehicle Permits can be purchased online, up to 5 days in advance by following this link: https://reservations.ontarioparks.ca/

Seasonal Vehicle Permits can be purchased at our Administration Office:

🚨1 WEEK UNTIL WE CLOSE OUR MAIN ENTERANCE🚨

Bass Lake is open all year for day use! Make sure you know how to find us!

Effective Monday, October 12th 2026, we will be opening the winter parking lot and closing the gates at the main entrance of the park.

The winter address will be in effect until May 2027 when we open for the 2027 camping season!

Today is National Day for Truth and Reconciliation.

Every year on September 30th, we honour the children who never returned home, as well as the Survivors of residential schools, their families, and the communities affected by these institutions.

This is a day to reflect on the history of Canada and the Indigenous Peoples of Turtle Island, and to recognize the lasting impacts of residential schools on Indigenous communities across the country.

We encourage our visitors to continue learning, listening, and finding meaningful ways to support reconciliation.

🚨 ATTENTION PARK VISITORS🚨

The Trailer Dump/Fill Station and Boat Launch will be closing on Tuesday, October 13th 2026 and will re-open in May 2027.

Water will be shut off to this area to prepare for the winter and we are unable to accommodate the use of the trailer dump/fill station beyond October 13th 2026.

The boat launch at Bass Lake will not be accessible beginning Tuesday, October 13th and will re-open in May 2027.

Have you ever stepped outside at night and felt awe-struck by the stars? Perhaps you stayed and as your eyes adjusted, it felt like the stars kept multiplying.

Outdoor lighting at night can overwhelm the sky with light and erase the shimmer of the stars, especially near urban areas!

Did you know, it can also disrupt your circadian rhythm impacting your sleep patterns, mood, hormone release and body temperature regulation.

There is mounting scientific evidence to suggest that artificial light at night can have devastating effects on ecosystems.

At Bass Lake, we replaced several of our outdoor lights with DarkSky approved lighting.

We hope that this change will…

🦇 Return some previously light polluted foraging areas to our Bats
🪲 Help protect our nocturnal pollinators, and
🌠 Provide more rest and stargazing opportunities for our visitors
