The Child & Youth Advocacy Centre Simcoe/Muskoka is a child and youth-friendly centre in which multidisciplinary professionals join together under one roof to provide services and supports to children and youth who have experienced abuse. Based on an internationally recognized, best-practice model of care; the CYACSM, promotes and delivers excellence in child/youth abuse response, investigation an

d prevention while minimizing trauma and promoting the well-being of children, youth and their families during the investigative process and beyond. This commitment starts with enhancing the quality and effectiveness of the investigating interview with the best interest, comfort and safety of the child in mind. With the unique wrap-around support of a Child & Youth Advocate, children, youth and their non-offending family members have the support and information they need as they move along their healing journey. The CYACSM has two child/youth-friendly centres in Orillia and Barrie, as well as a new Mobile Unit to make our services better available in our wide geographic area of Simcoe Muskoka.

Our last Summer Drop-in was so much fun! Our group went to ALT. Rock and did some incredible climbing! The girls absolutely “rocked” it, and learned some new skills from the team and coaches there! 🛘🧗‍♀️

We are so incredibly honoured to be the recipient charity for the Horseshoe Valley Hustle again this year!
Come out this Halloween and hit the trails for a good cause! 🎃👻

- Join CYAC at Horseshoe Valley Resort on Sat October 31st for a Halloween-themed trail running event! With multiple events and distance options there’s something for everyone regardless of age or ability!

-The Spooky Small Steps 1KM Halloween Dash is the perfect way to get the whole family involved. $10 from each of the Small Steps entries will support CYAC. Come dressed in your favourite costume in support of a great cause!

-For those wanting a bigger challenge there is a 5KM, 10KM or 8-hour endurance challenge relay event. Put together a team of friends and tackle the hills of Horseshoe Valley together.

Last week the CYAC had our first Summer Drop-in session of the summer! Our drop-in sessions are an opportunity for our Common Ground Alumni to come back to the CYACSM and reconnect with other past participants.

It was so amazing to see some familiar faces, get to do some fun activities, and of course hangout with our incredible facility dogs.

We cannot wait for our next session. 😊
