🍂 Hello October, and Happy Thanksgiving neighbours! It’s a glorious day for a walk around the neighbourhood. I’ve put out some of our overflow books, and did a refresh of the stock - please come by anytime for some treasures for your fall reading pleasure! 💗📚 Please take what you like, leave what you can. 📍Newcarlisle Cres

I saw a neighbour this morning who described visits as “geocaching for booklovers”! I just love that! I’m so grateful for all of the very generous recent donations that allow us to be able to share so many beautiful books with our community. ✨🫶📚

🧒🏽👧🏻📚 If you happen to have any extra KIDS BOOKS lying around that aren’t getting any love, we’d be happy to receive them! We are running low on kids books at this point, and would like to stock up for our Halloween Boooks Event 👻💗📚 Our donation bin is on the porch to receive any larger donations. 🙏🏼 We raised $150 last weekend for CHEO at our lemonade stand and bake sale at our 2nd anniversary event! 🍋🍪📚 Thank you to everyone who came by to support the event, and who spent time chatting about books and life, and thank you for all of the generous donations! It was a joy to spend some time with everyone who came by. 💗 Thank you again to our friends Maple Leaf Little Free Library who baked some gluten-free treats for the event!

CHEO is near and dear to our hearts! Our kiddo had surgery there at age 2, and we are forever grateful for the tremendous support she received. 🫶

I love the early evening light on our so much! 🤩 I did some organizing today and decided to add these treasures to the library. I haven’t read Winter Garden yet, but realized today somehow I had two copies! 🤣📚

☀️📚 It’s a beautiful Saturday and the PERFECT day for overflow books! Swing by anytime and grab your next great read. We have so many wonderful titles in our right now to choose from! What would you reach for??

We also have several 🔍 Blind Date with a Book Bundles out on our overflow shelf today for new readers to explore and enjoy! 👀💗📚 These bundles are such fun - they intrigue our curiosity and draw us in - pulling little tidbits about the story inside. A perfect way to discover books we might have never even picked up! Leftovers from our second anniversary party last weekend, for anyone who missed the fun. Each package includes bookmarks and stickers.

🫶 My little way of saying THANK YOU to the community for all of the support and generous spirit in keeping our Little Free Library stocked with fresh and fun titles all season!

We’re celebrating our 2nd anniversary today with a massive book giveaway, and a lemonade stand and bake sale fundraiser for CHEO! We’ll be set up until 2 PM. Swing by anytime! Thanks to everyone who has already come by! 💗📚 It’s the perfect day for a book party! And love getting to have our fellow Little Free Library Stewards spend some time with us too - Maple Leaf Little Free Library, Paradise Little Library and The Little Book Wagon! 🫶

These Advent book calendars are so special! Open one brand new mini book each day of December to help countdown to Christmas! 🎄 The books are a mix of classic stories, fables, modern stories, and each collection has a few Christmas-themed books included. Each one contains 24 books, that are sure to delight! Ideal for kids ages 2-10 yrs old.

✨ One winner for each Advent Calendar will be randomly selected on September 10th at 8 PM. Open to Ontario residents only, must be 18+ or have parent/guardian consent to enter on a minor's behalf. Winner must be able to pick up their prize (location in Orléans).

I’m gearing up for our big event next Sunday (Sept 6th, 10 AM - 2 PM) - organizing all of the incredible donations we’ve been receiving - take a peek at these photos to explore just some of the adult books that’ll be available! 👀📚

There will be books for all ages - I still haven’t organized the kids books. We will also have these awesome Reading Buddies donated by a generous neighbour!

I am so grateful for all of the support we receive from the community in making this adventure a success!

I’m so grateful to Mrs.Jenn’s Creations for her ongoing generosity! These lovely bookmarks will be available when we have our special two year anniversary - date coming soon! 📚💗

Jenn created the decals that are on our and also the “Oh hello” welcome mat that greets our visitors. You can find her at the Heart of Orléans Market and the Original Navan Market. She’s an awesome local maker who can do customizations. ✨

The sun came out again (at last!), and the humidity has broken! 🙌 Time for our to be restocked. Added some new books in honour of Indigenous History Month (and today is National Indigenous People’s Day), and the beginning of Pride Season! 🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍⚧️ Also added some summertime reads and some levelled readers for the kids wanting to practice their reading skills this summer. ☀️📚

A few notes about some of these books:
🧡 I had the honour of meeting author Ma-Nee Chacaby last September in Thunder Bay. She has the most delightful laugh, and such a generous and kind heart.
🏳️‍⚧️ Rowan Jette Knox’s book is signed!
🏳️‍🌈 Heartstopper by Alice Oseman is a graphic novel about two boys in high school who develop a friendship that blossoms into love. I won this book in a generous giveaway from Scholastic Canada for Little Free Library Stewards. Thanks Scholastic! 🫶
