💙 Give an old backpack a meaningful second life! 🎒

PET families can help support our neighbours experiencing homelessness by donating clean, gently used backpacks through our Community Outreach initiative with Front Porch Mentors.

🎒 Backpacks can be dropped off at the school any time this week, through Friday afternoon. Please check that they are clean, fully functional, and empty of personal belongings before donating.

A small donation can make a big difference. Every backpack helps provide comfort, dignity and practical support to someone in our community. 💙

Our Lost and Found is overflowing with unclaimed items! We currently have dozens of sweaters, jackets, shoes, hats, lunch containers, and even a bicycle helmet waiting to be reunited with their owners.

If your child has misplaced something this school year, we encourage you to stop by the school and take a look through our collection of lost items (located outside the main office). We would love to see these belongings make their way back home where they belong.

Please note that any items not claimed will be donated to support our community.

A reminder that there is no Pizza Day tomorrow (Thursday, June 25), so students will need a packed lunch for the final day of school.

The good news? It's the last lunch to pack before summer break! ☀️🎒

💙❤️ Celebrating the Heart of PET ❤️💙

A reminder that students are invited to help us recognize the amazing staff who make a difference in their lives every day. Through our Celebrating the Heart of PET initiative, students can share their gratitude by adding to a collaborative mural, colouring and writing a thank-you card, or completing a thank-you page with drawings and kind words.

Our Gratitude Creation Stations are located in the stairwell by the gym and outside the library, making it easy for students to stop by and share their appreciation.

A few thoughtful words can go a long way. Let's come together to celebrate the incredible staff who help our students learn, grow, and thrive every day!

🌱 Our Edible Garden is growing! 🌱

A huge thank you to the students in Ms. Harrison’s Grade 4 class for their dedication to watering and caring for the garden each day. Their hard work is helping our little sprouts thrive!

As you walk by, keep a keen eye out for the tiny shoots beginning to emerge. Before long, they’ll grow into delicious beets, spinach, carrots, and radishes. We can’t wait to watch our garden flourish throughout the season! 🌿🥕🫜

📣 A reminder for Trailblazer families as you look ahead to the new school year! 📣

While summer is just around the corner, we're already planning for another exciting year at Pierre Elliott Trudeau Public School and would like to share two important dates for families interested in becoming involved with our School Community Council (SCC).

The SCC plays an important role in supporting student experiences, building community, and helping bring exciting initiatives to life at our school. Whether you're interested in serving in an SCC role, volunteering your time, sharing ideas, or simply learning more about how the council supports our school, we encourage you to join us.

We hope you'll consider getting involved in the year ahead. Every contribution helps strengthen our school community and create meaningful opportunities for our students.

☀️ The final week of the school year is here! ☀️

As we prepare to wrap up another wonderful year at Pierre Elliott Trudeau Public School, we have a few special events ahead for our Trailblazers:

❤️ Celebrating the Heart of PET (Monday–Wednesday)
👏 Clap Out & Last Day of School (Thursday)
📚 P.D. Day (Friday)

This week, the School Community Council is proud to encourage students to participate in Celebrating the Heart of PET, a special initiative designed to recognize the incredible staff members who make our school such a welcoming, supportive, and inspiring place to learn.

Throughout the school, students will find stations where they can write thank-you notes, share a favourite memory, or express appreciation for a staff member who has made a difference in their school year. Whether it's a teacher, educational assistant, office staff member, custodian, lunchroom supervisor, or another caring adult, every message of gratitude helps remind our staff how much they mean to our school community.

Participation is completely optional, and students are invited to take part in whatever way feels meaningful to them.

As another amazing school year comes to a close, we want to thank our students, staff, families, and volunteers for helping make PET such a special place. We wish all of our Trailblazer families a safe, happy, and memorable summer filled with fun, rest, and adventure!
