Chris Topple for Mayor

Chris Topple for Mayor Chris Topple for Mayor I seek your support on October 27.

Elect Chris Topple for Mayor of Oshawa

-lifelong Oshawa resident
-graduate of Durham College and York University
-former assistant to MP and MPP of Oshawa
-operates a small business since 1995 conducting legal
appeals for injured workers before governmental tribunals
-member of the Law Society of Upper Canada

-we need to freeze our property taxes, one of the highest in Ontario, with a total debt

of over $100 million
-we need more open government on city council with no secret meetings and accurate figures on where our tax dollars are being spent, without firing the city’s financial whistle blower, which the current administration did.
-we need council to show respect for one another and work together for the city they represent
-we should use city staff rather than expensive outside consultants
-we must replace the Genosha Hotel with a condominium so more people will be downtown, and attract new business there using tax and fee incentives, to revitalize the core of our city
-we must get our house in order as the Ontario Ombudsman will soon have the power to investigate municipal governments with the proposed Bill 8
-we should probe a Public-Private Partnership to develop an attractive waterfront
As your mayor I would follow through on these and other issues, working together with all the stakeholders for a better Oshawa, with your help.
