Yesterday, Oshawa Professional Fire Fighters Association Local 465 were proud to host our annual Retirees Luncheon, an opportunity to recognize the dedication, professionalism, and friendships built over decades of service to our community.
We were honoured to celebrate the careers of Candice Hollingshead and Alan Ulrich, who were able to attend, while also recognizing Tanya Norman and Scott Wood, who were unfortunately unable to join us yesterday. Their years of service and commitment to Oshawa Fire Services and our Association have left a lasting impact on our members and our city.
We also heard remarks from Deputy Chief Barlow on behalf of Chief Barkwell, Mayor Dan Carter, MP Rhonda Kirkland, and MP Jivani. While MPP Todd McCarthy and MPP Jennifer French were unable to attend, we appreciate their continued support of firefighters and retirees in our community.
A special thank you as well to Muscular Dystrophy Canada for recognizing Oshawa Firefighters for surpassing $1 million raised over the years in support of MD Canada. That incredible milestone is only possible because of the dedication and generosity of our members, retirees, families, and supporters.
Thank you to everyone who attended and helped make the afternoon such a meaningful celebration of service, sacrifice, and community.
