For anyone that doesn’t know - CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation) is a lifesaving skill used when someone’s heart stops beating or they stop breathing normally. By performing chest compressions, CPR helps keep blood and oxygen flowing to the brain and vital organs until first responders arrive.

This time of year, we tend to do a lot of back and forth from the kitchen to the patio. Be sure to keep your cooking areas safe.

Last year, cooking caused 25% of structure fires in BC.🍳🧑‍🍳
Keep your stove area free from anything that can burn – tea towels, paper towels, etc.
For more cooking safety tips check out our toolkit: https://www2.gov.bc.ca/gov/content/safety/emergency-management/education-programs-toolkits/social-media-toolkits/cooking-and-bbqing-safety

A huge congratulations to all 12 newly certified Auto Extrication members (10 from Anarchist Mountain Fire Department and 2 from Keremeos Volunteer Fire Department) who dedicated two full volunteer days to completing this valuable training. Your commitment to developing these lifesaving skills is greatly appreciated and helps strengthen our ability to serve the community safely and effectively.

A sincere thank you to our instructor, Randy Schmitz, for sharing his knowledge and demonstrating some of the latest techniques used to rapidly and safely gain access to trapped patients.

We would also like to thank Collision Craft for collecting, donating, delivering, and removing the scrap vehicles used during training. Hands-on experience is incredibly valuable and plays a critical role in preparing our members for real-world emergencies.
