As part of the 89th Street Reconstruction Capital Project, watermain tie-ins will be completed in the area on:

• Tuesday, September 1, 2026
• Thursday, September 3, 2026

Water service to impacted properties will be temporarily shut off between 8:00 AM and 5:00 PM on these dates.

If your property will be impacted by the shutdown, a notice will be delivered to your property in advance. Residents who receive a notice are encouraged to store any water they may need before the shutdown begins.

Every effort will be made to complete the work and restore water service as quickly as possible.
________________________________________
While this work is necessary to complete critical infrastructure improvements, residents may experience temporary discoloured or dirty water throughout the week (September 1-September 5).

The discolouration is caused by rapid changes in water flow direction within the water distribution system during the tie-in process. While the water may appear cloudy, yellow, or brown at times, this is typically the result of mineral sediment being stirred up within the watermains.

We recognize that discoloured water can be inconvenient and frustrating for residents, and we sincerely appreciate your patience and understanding as this important infrastructure work is completed. To help minimize impacts, municipal crews will be actively monitoring the system and conducting watermain flushing throughout the week to mitigate discoloured water where possible.

If you are concerned about discoloured water, you may wish to run a cold-water tap for approximately 10 minutes, or until the water runs clear. Residents are also encouraged to avoid doing laundry while water is noticeably discoloured.

We apologize for the inconvenience and appreciate your patience.

A new waste collection agreement with Waste Connections of Canada is now in effect. Residents should be aware of the following changes to curbside collection.

Garbage & Recycling
There are no changes to curbside garbage or recycling collection.

Yard Waste Collection:
Waste Connections will no longer pick up unlimited yard waste. For bi-weekly yard waste collection residents may place one automated yard waste cart at the curb.

If you have additional yard waste, Tag-a-Bag stickers can be purchased at Town Hall (8707 Main Street, Monday to Friday 9:00AM-4:00PM.). One sticker is required for each kraft paper yard waste bag.

Additional yard waste bins or containers will no longer be collected.

New: Bi-Annual Unlimited Yard Waste Pickup
Unlimited yard waste collection will be offered during periods of higher seasonal yard cleanup, with two collection events in the spring and two in the fall.

The fall 2026 collection dates are:
• October 13, 2026
• November 10, 2026

On these dates, residents may place their automated yard waste cart and additional kraft paper yard waste bags at the curb. Tag-a-Bag stickers are not required during unlimited collection events.
Spring unlimited yard waste and large item collection dates will be announced as part of the 2027 Curbside Collection Calendar.
