Last week at The Well, we were delighted to welcome Tammy, who generously donated her time to provide haircuts and styling for our participants.

Many visitors to our St Luke's Table program live in apartments or rooming houses. While they have a roof over their heads, the rising cost of living often means that essential household items, such as toilet paper, are simply out of reach.

Thanks to the generosity of donors and community groups, we do our best to keep these everyday necessities available for those who need them.

When St. Matthew's Anglican Church in the Glebe, Ottawa learned of this need, their parish came together in an incredible way, collecting 316 rolls of toilet paper to support our participants!

We are truly in awe of this generosity and grateful for the compassion shown by the St. Matthew's community. Thank you for helping ensure that our neighbours have access to basic essentials and are reminded that they are cared for. ❤️

We have a confession: we love it when people ask, “What do you need most?”

Usually, we have a long list of essentials to share. But thanks to the incredible support of our community, donors, and parish partners, that list is much shorter these days. 🎉

Right now, there is one item we cannot keep on the shelves:

🩲NEW UNDERWEAR - women's and men's in all sizes

It is not the most glamorous donation, but it is one of the most impactful. Having access to clean, new underwear provides comfort, dignity, and confidence, and it is something many of us take for granted.

If you, your parish, workplace, or community group would like to help, donations can be dropped off at The Well (154 Somerset St. W.) during the week from 8:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.

Donated items will be distributed across our locations and given directly to community members who need it most.

As many of you know, Centre 454 is preparing for an important transition as we relocate to a new home. While this a significant change, one thing stays the same: our commitment to creating a welcoming community for people experiencing poverty, homelessness, and isolation.

This year, we're inviting you to join us for Ride for Refuge, a chance to come together in solidarity, support, and advocacy for our neighbours and for the future of Centre 454.

Every dollar raised helps ensure that, throughout this period and beyond, Centre 454 can continue offering meals, community, support, and a place of belonging for our neighbours experiencing poverty, homelessness, and isolation.

515 Meals Served! 🌭☀️

Belong Ottawa’s St. Luke’s Table program hosted a community barbecue at Donald Park, welcoming neighbours to enjoy a delicious summer lunch and connect with one another.

Together, we served 515 meals and shared an afternoon filled with fun, laughter, and community spirit. From games and face painting to great conversations and sunshine, it was a joyful day for everyone involved.

Thank you our volunteers, staff, and community members who helped make this event such a success, and special thanks to Councillor Ariel Troster and OPS Outreach for grilling and serving lunch 💛

We hope you enjoy spending the afternoon with us through these photos!
