Impaired driving is still one of the leading criminal causes of death and injury in Canada.

According to the latest statistics, alcohol is involved in nearly 70% of impaired-driving deaths, and drug-impaired driving is on the rise.

Remember, impaired driving is 100% preventable. One decision, like planning a safe ride home, can save your life or the life of others.

This has been a very difficult week for the law enforcement community.

We are saddened by the passing of Toronto Police Service Constable Marc Pinizzotto. Our thoughts are with his family, friends, and colleagues at TPS.

This tragic loss comes shortly after the death of Ontario Provincial Police Provincial Constable Tarun Bali and is felt across the policing community.

The RCMP stands in solidarity with our policing partners and all those grieving.

Only two generations ago, Stephan Kilabuk’s grandfather carried mail between Arctic communities by dog team.

Today, Kilabuk serves as an Emergency Response Team sniper and corporal with the RCMP, carrying forward the same Inuit values of listening and being respectful of all people.

Raised in Iqaluit, Nunavut for the first 20 years of his life and returning to the Territory, Kilabuk is relearning the language and helping colleagues to better understand the people, ways of life and the land.

“I identify as an Inuk male with French in me… I embrace both cultures and languages.”

For Kilabuk, honouring where you come from is just as important as where you’re going.

This National Indigenous History Month, we celebrate Indigenous stories, cultures and the people continuing to shape the future while honouring the past.

Representing Canada on nationally significant occasions has long been part of the Musical Ride’s role.

Members of the Musical Ride were proud to be present when the Right Honourable Louise Arbour was installed as Canada’s 31st Governor General.

The RCMP supports important national ceremonies and government functions, such as the Governor General’s swearing in.

Through the Musical Ride, the RCMP contributes to longstanding traditions while representing Canada at official events, at home and abroad.

As Pride Season begins, the RCMP recognizes and celebrates the 2SLGBTQIA+ community, including our employees, the communities we serve, and our allies.

To mark the occasion, RCMP employees gathered for a Pride flag-raising ceremony at National Division Headquarters.

The Pride flag is a symbol of resilience, dignity, and the ongoing pursuit of equality. It also reflects our continued commitment to fostering inclusive workplaces and strengthening trust with the diverse communities we serve.

Today marks 5 years since the horrific terrorist attack in London, Ontario, that claimed the lives of four members of the Afzaal family.

We continue to hold the survivor, their loved ones, and the entire community in our hearts as we honour the memories of Salman, Madiha, Yumnah, and Talat.

In the wake of this tragedy, the RCMP Federal Policing – Central Region, through the Integrated National Security Enforcement Team (INSET), worked tirelessly alongside London Police Service to investigate this tragedy. This collaboration marked a historic milestone in Canadian law enforcement, ensuring the perpetrator was held accountable and justice was served under terrorism provisions for this terrorist act which was based on hate.

We remain unwavering in our dedication to disrupting violent extremism, bringing those who seek to harm our communities to justice, and preventing future tragedies. We stand united against Islamophobia and hate in all its forms.

This is Lenny.

At 33 years old, Lenny is the RCMP’s oldest horse—and his story is nothing short of remarkable.

Born in 1993 at the RCMP’s horse breeding farm in Pakenham, Ontario, Lenny went on to spend more than a decade touring across Canada with the Musical Ride, even performing overseas on special occasions.

He took part in celebrations for Queen Elizabeth II’s Diamond Jubilee in 2012. After retiring from performing at age 22, Lenny remained at the RCMP stables in Ottawa where he continued to train new Musical Ride candidates until his official retirement in 2021.

A familiar and steady presence, he now helps guide younger horses and is often the first to lead them out of the barn each morning.
Much more than a retiree, Lenny is a beloved member of the team—and proof that some legends never really slow down.
Lenny may no longer perform, but you can still attend the Musical Ride Tour!

Great work from the Canadian Anti-Fraud Centre (CAFC) in supporting Operation Frontier+ III, an international sprint aimed at identifying and disrupting the systems criminals use to defraud victims around the world.

This effort helped authorities recover more than $4.7 million to victims in Canada, demonstrating the kind of collaboration needed to fight fraud both at home and abroad.

The Canadian Anti-Fraud Centre is proud to have supported Operation FRONTIER+ III, an international sprint aimed at identifying and disrupting fraud, including illicit transactions, suspicious bank accounts, fraudulent websites, telephone numbers, email accounts, and money mule activity linked to transnational fraud networks.

Between March 10 and May 7, 2026, financial crime and fraud experts from around the globe worked together to coordinate disruptions, share intelligence, and support victims, demonstrating the level of international cooperation required to combat these borderless threats.
