Yesterday, our System Navigation Team hosted their second Annual Backpack Giveaway BBQ & Resource Fair! 🎒🍽️

About 100 community members joined us, and 67 backpacks were given out to children and youth from kindergarten through Grade 9.

A huge thank you to Caring and Sharing Exchange for providing the backpacks and school supplies. Your excellent coordination and partnerships make a difference for so many families in our community.

Thank you to all of our partners and teams who shared resources, information, and swag with community members: Pleo - Family Peer Support, City of Ottawa, Pinecrest-Queensway Employment Services, PQ Youth Programs, PQ Early Years and Childcare Services, 1Call1Click.ca, and Ottawa Public Health.

And a special thank you to Jason L, Yewande, Mitzie C, Jason P, and Ayesha B for supporting the event by checking clients in, helping with the BBQ, and handing out all 67 backpacks. Your time, energy, and support were greatly appreciated!
