Today, the AIDS Committee of Ottawa(ACO) was honoured to attend the unveiling of Thunderhead, Canada’s 🌈2SLGBTQI+ National Monument near the Portage Bridge. This powerful space honours those who experienced discrimination and persecution, including during the LGBT Purge, while celebrating the resilience, strength, and contributions of 2SLGBTQI+ communities across Canada.

Let us all be hopeful for a future rooted in equity, inclusion, and belonging for all.

Dig Day | Aug 13th
What a meaningful day of reflection, remembrance, and hope. The AIDS Committee of Ottawa was honoured to collaborate and attend the Canadian AIDS Society’s Dig Day, where a 25-year-old millennium time capsule was unearthed, reconnecting us with the stories, milestones, and advocacy that have shaped Canada’s response to HIV & AIDS over the past quarter century.

On Aug 13th, Canadian AIDS Society unearthed a 25 y/o time capsule and Khaled Salam, Executive Director of the AIDS Committee of Ottawa, spoke and shared reflections on 25 years of HIV & AIDS work, highlighting how far we’ve come and the actions we must take together to move forward.
