Ottawa Food Bank Our Vision: Healthy, accessible, sustainable food for all. The Ottawa Food Bank network receives more than 588,000 visits for food support annually.

Our Mission: We work in partnership to create a healthier city by empowering people, increasing access to healthy food, and advocating for systemic changes that reduce food insecurity. The Ottawa Food Bank is the main emergency food provider in the National Capital Region and has been serving the community since 1984. The Ottawa Food Bank works in partnership with a network of over 90 community food programs that include community food banks, food cupboards, meal programs, multi-service programs, kids’ summer nutrition programs, and after-school snack programs. Sadly, 37% of Ottawa Food Bank clients are children. With a focus on fresh, and thanks to the community’s support, nearly 8 million pounds of food is distributed from the 2001 Bantree Street warehouse each year.

Garlic planting has come to an end on the farm this 🧄

Thanks to the helping hands of our dedicated volunteers, staff, and our sponsor Amazon.ca the garlic cloves are now tucked into the soil and ready for the seasons ahead. Now we turn our attention to harvesting sweet potatoes 🍠

As we approach the end of another growing season, we are grateful for all that we have grown together, and the fresh, nutritious food that will help the community year-round.

Stay tuned as we make the most of these last weeks on the farmđŸ§‘â€đŸŒŸđŸŽƒ

Thank you, Ottawa!

Thanks to your support, and a very special matching gift from an anonymous donor, our August back to school campaign raised more than $400K for our Kickstart After 4 Club Program 🧃

During the school year, the Ottawa Food Bank provides thousands of healthy, nutritious snacks through the KickStart After 4 Club Program to 18 after-school program locations across Ottawa. With more than one third of visitors to food banks being children, your support helps ensure families have one less worry and kids can focus on their most important homework: being kids!

Because no school supply is as critical as a healthy snack or meal 🍎

Merci, Ottawa!

Happy sponsored by Amazon.ca đŸŒŸ

We got started on our garlic planting! To get us started, volunteers “cracked” heads of seed garlic to separate the cloves for planting. We also harvested and processed squash.

Swipe through to look at our volunteers and staff, hard at work!

Today is , a day to recognize the impact of Donor-Advised Funds and the generosity of the donors who use them to support causes they care about 🍁

At the Ottawa Food Bank, DAF grants help us respond to growing food insecurity across our city, providing critical support to neighbours who rely on our network of food programs. We are deeply grateful to the donors who choose to invest in our community through their DAFs.

Thank you for helping ensure that everyone in Ottawa has access to the food and support they need.
