Imagine arriving in a new country overnight. You don't know the language. You don't understand the procedures. And the path to stability can feel impossible to navigate alone. That’s where pro bono lawyers step in. ⚖️

Since 2022, the Ukraine Pro Bono Collaborative – a coalition of 5 major international law firms based in Warsaw – has been working alongside European Lawyers in Lesvos to support Ukrainian refugees. Whether it's applying for international protection, accessing child benefits, or simply opening a bank account, Polish lawyers help people make informed decisions and regain a sense of control over their lives.

💬 “Behind every case is a human story. That is what keeps me coming back: the knowledge that what we do matters,” says Aleksandra, a lawyer at A&O Shearman in Poland.

💬 “I see our visitors not as clients seeking legal advice, but as neighbours or friends who suddenly found themselves in a completely unfamiliar situation. The same story that my family was living through,” adds Igor, a Ukrainian interpreter who has supported the project since its earliest days.

Together, Aleksandra and Igor show what solidarity looks like up close: not a slogan, but people who keep showing up. 🇵🇱🤝🇺🇦

Through the Ukraine Pro Bono Collaborative, more than 65 Warsaw-based lawyers across 5 firms have already helped over 3,500 people.

🎒 Just two days after the full-scale invasion of Ukraine began, Lidia and her mother crossed the Polish border in search of safety. Today, at the Polish Red Cross in Kielce, she is the one helping others rebuild their lives from scratch.

As the Livelihoods program coordinator, Lidia supports the Ukrainian community in Poland. Drawing from her own experience of escaping war, she guides people to find jobs, open businesses, and regain their independence. 💼✨

💬 “I grew alongside the project – first as the coordinator's assistant, and today as its coordinator. Together with the Polish Red Cross team, we've helped many people who had the courage to start over” says Lidia.

Lidia’s story proves that true safety means more than just finding shelter. It means regaining the power to shape one’s future and to thrive as professionals and neighbours in a shared community 🇵🇱🤝🇺🇦

When Russia attacked Ukraine, 1.73 million Ukrainian refugees received legal and financial protection in Poland. Every life restarted is proof that we are strongest when we stand together. ❤️

Jazz at its core, funk in its heart 🎹 with spacious Hammond organs to carry you to another dimension, cheeky guitar weaving throughout it all, and drums providing the vital heartbeat to this colourful mishmash.

PowerHouse TreeOh! embodies the collaborative spirit of jazz, reaching across continents and genres - led by Polish guitarist Wojtek Justyna and joined by extraordinary members of the Montreal music scene, keyboardist David Ryshpan and drummer Shayne Assouline.

This Polish-Canadian jazz project, following last year's successful tour, will once again perform in numerous locations across Ontario and Quebec 🍁

The deepest wounds of war are often the ones we cannot see.

Nina Mocior, a Polish psychotherapist working with Caritas Polska, supports children and adults in four Family Support Centers across Ukraine. Because for a child to heal, a parent needs support too.

In a war zone, mental health care is not a luxury. It is survival – helping people regain a sense of safety, rebuild their lives, and move forward.

📣 Last month, the ESA - European Space Agency and Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk announced that Warsaw will host ESA's newest centre, becoming the first city outside the Agency's founding member states to welcome one of its flagship facilities. 🇵🇱 🇪🇺

🛰️ The new centre will develop cutting-edge technologies for both civilian and defence applications, helping protect critical space infrastructure and respond to emerging security threats.
