The primary goal of the Norman Johnston Secondary Alternate Program is to help young individuals, 16-20 years of age, attain credits to graduate in order to achieve their goals of entering the world of work, or entering a post-secondary institution. The program helps students who have not been successful in a regular school setting attain credits through a teacher directed/ self-directed independe
nt learning model. We also support students who have already graduated from high school and are looking to upgrade their marks and/or take a few courses that will get them into the post-secondary program of their choice. Students who are serious about making a positive change in their lives and who are ready to commit to their learning will benefit from the options available to them through the Norman Johnston Secondary Alternate Program.
