Tourism HR Canada's Board of Directors gathers in Ottawa this week to help shape the future of our work; we're grateful for their extraordinary contributions. Their leadership has helped guide the organization through periods of change, growth, challenge, and opportunity, always with the needs of Canada's tourism workforce at heart.

Several Board members are nearing the end of their terms, including Joe Baker, Dean of the School of Business at Okanagan College. In this thoughtful article, Joe reflects on his experience serving on the Board and shares why Tourism HR Canada's work matters.

The latest Labour Force Survey shows an early summer bump in tourism employment: up 6% from the previous month.

Tourism accounted for nearly one-third of total employment gains across the entire Canadian economy in May.

Tourism’s share of all employment in Canada rose to 10.3%, slightly higher than last year.
