DCC’s resources are divided among five service lines. CONTRACT MANAGEMENT SERVICES
This is DCC’s longest-standing service line.

Defence Construction Canada is a Crown corporation that provides contracting, construction management, infrastructure and environmental services for the Department of National Defence and the Canadian Forces, as required for the defence of Canada. From project needs planning to building decommissioning, our work covers a broad spectrum of activities and includes services for organizations within DND such as Communications Security Establishment Canada (CSEC), among others. The Construction Services team supports the creation, renovation and maintenance of facilities for DND’s infrastructure and environmental program. CONTRACT SERVICES
The Contract Services team oversees the procurement of goods and professional, construction and maintenance services to fulfill Canada’s domestic and international defence infrastructure needs. ENVIRONMENTAL SERVICES
Environmental Services helps DND meet environmental performance targets, comply with regulatory requirements, and manage due diligence and risk. PROJECT AND PROGRAM MANAGEMENT SERVICES
The Project and Program Management Services line advises DND on matters such as building requirements, program planning, and schedule and document control. REAL PROPERTY MANAGEMENT SERVICES
From needs planning to facility decommissioning, the Real Property Management Services team ensures DND’s real property assets are managed efficiently throughout their lifecycles.

Our thoughts are with the Canadian Armed Forces community following the tragic events at CFB Wainwright.

We are deeply saddened by the loss of life and injuries. Our hearts go out to those affected, their families, friends and colleagues, and to the many people responding, providing care and supporting others through this tragedy.

We know the impact of an event like this reaches far beyond those directly affected. It will be felt across the Defence Team and throughout the Wainwright community, including among friends and colleagues we have the privilege of working alongside every day.

To everyone affected by this tragedy, and to those caring for and supporting others through it, you are very much in our thoughts. To our friends and colleagues across the Defence Team, DCC is here and ready to help where we can.

Work is underway on a major project to build greener defence infrastructure at 5 Wing Goose Bay.

At the groundbreaking, Philip Earle, MP for Labrador, marked the start of the $187-million project on behalf of the Minister of National Defence—the largest defence investment in Newfoundland and Labrador’s history.

The work includes a new Central Heating Plant (CHP), renovations and modernization of other infrastructure, upgraded building controls, and the conversion of eight buildings to stand-alone electric heating. Modernizing the Wing’s CHP is expected to reduce annual energy costs by 77% and greenhouse gas emissions by 94%.

DCC’s efficient procurement and contract management processes are contributing to this important project—supporting DND in finding innovative ways to cut energy use and emissions, while strengthening Arctic sovereignty and operational reach.

What makes a land acknowledgement meaningful?

To help answer that question, DCC employees took part in a webinar led by Michelle Lean, Communications Director at pipikwan pêhtâkwan, as part of our National Day for Truth and Reconciliation activities.

Through conversation, reflection and learning, participants explored the history, purpose and impact of land acknowledgements and their connection to reconciliation.

Learning together helps us deepen our understanding of Indigenous perspectives and consider how each of us can contribute to reconciliation in meaningful ways.

In celebration of DCC’s 75th anniversary, employees across Canada are helping to protect and enhance the natural spaces in their communities.

🌻 In North Bay, Amanda Cooley joined local gardeners to help keep North Bay’s waterfront welcoming for everyone by tending to the garden beds, landscaping and cleaning up garbage.

🌳 In Edmonton, DCCers planted nearly 200 trees and shrubs through the city’s Root for Trees volunteer program.

⚾ In Halifax, Michael Denham helped keep his local Eastern Passage recreation park clean by collecting garbage and debris from the parking lot and ball diamonds throughout the summer.

Defence infrastructure projects are on the horizon in Comox.

Indigenous and non-indigenous companies gathered at 19 Wing Comox to network and hear directly from, DCC and Department of National Defence about upcoming opportunities and the future of defence infrastructure in the region.

🔸 LCol Vaino, 19 Wing’s Operations Support Squadron Commander, provided the operational context for 19 Wing Comox.

🔸 Major Wentzell provided an overview of the Real Property Operations (RPOps) program.

🔸 Guy Monette, Team Leader with the Directorate General Infrastructure and Environment Engineering Services (DGIEES), highlighted the major capital construction program.

🔸 Ryan Stephen, Housing Manager with the Canadian Forces Housing Agency (CFHA), shared updates on current and planned housing projects.

Together, the presentations gave Indigenous and non-Indigenous businesses, consultants and contractors a clearer view of future infrastructure opportunities.
