LETS PREVENT DROWNING βοΈ
* π Always supervise children around water β stay within armβs reach of young or inexperienced swimmers.
* πββοΈ Enroll children in swimming lessons and continue practicing their skills year-round.
* π¦Ί Use properly fitted life jackets when boating or around open water. Floaties are not a substitute for supervision.
* πͺ Secure backyard pools with appropriate fencing and self-closing/self-latching gates.
* π± Put the phone away while supervising. Active supervision means watching, not just being nearby.
* π Know where the safety equipment is and learn CPR and basic water rescue skills.
* π Teach children about water safety rules and never allow them to swim alone.
* π¨βπ©βπ§ Have a designated Water Watcher at gatherings so everyone knows who is responsible for watching the swimmers.
* π« Donβt rely on older children to supervise younger children.
* β€οΈ Remember: drowning can happen quickly and silently. Prevention starts with constant supervision and water skills.
