On 30 July 2026, Amb. Geoffrey Kaituko, CBS, Acting High Commissioner met with leaders of the Kenyan Community of the National Capital Region at the Kenya High Commission Chancery in Ottawa.
The diaspora delegation was led by the Chairperson, Ms. Mary Nduati, and included Mr. Daniel Muli (Vice Chairperson), Mr. Paskwa Mutunga, Mr. Vincent Mwaura, and Ms. Amy Kogi (Director-at-Large).
The meeting focused on strengthening collaboration between the Kenya High Commission and the Kenyan diaspora, enhancing engagement, and fostering closer cooperation in advancing the interests and welfare of Kenyans living in the Ottawa region.
The discussions also explored opportunities to deepen Kenya–Canada cultural relations by leveraging the Kenyan diaspora as a vital bridge between the two countries. Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to maintaining a constructive partnership founded on mutual respect, regular dialogue, and a shared vision of promoting Kenya’s national interests while supporting the well-being and aspirations of the Kenyan community in Canada.

On behalf of the Kenya High Commission in Ottawa, Acting High Commissioner Amb. Geoffrey Kaituko yesterday visited the High Commission of the Republic of Zambia to sign the Book of Condolences following the passing of the former Vice-President of the Republic of Zambia, H.E. Dr. Guy Lindsay Scott. During the visit, Amb. Kaituko conveyed the profound sympathies, solidarity, and heartfelt condolences of the Kenya High Commission to the Government and people of the Republic of Zambia, as well as to the bereaved family, during this period of national mourning. May his soul rest in eternal peace.

During the Second Canada–Africa Business Summit 2026 (CABS2026) in Guelph, Ontario, Amb. Geoffrey E. Kaituko, CBS, Acting High Commissioner of the Republic of Kenya to Canada, also joined a distinguished panel of leaders to discuss opportunities for strengthening Canada–Africa economic cooperation.
The panel featured Hon. Dominique O'Rourke, Member of Parliament for Guelph; Dr. Judith Awinja, OGW, Director of Nursing and Midwifery Services, Ministry of Health, Kenya; and Councillor Leanne Caron, City of Guelph. Together, they exchanged perspectives on fostering investment, innovation, healthcare collaboration, sustainable development, and people-to-people partnerships between Canada and Africa.
The discussion reaffirmed the importance of sustained dialogue and collaborative action in building stronger economic and institutional partnerships that deliver lasting benefits for both Canada and Africa.

From Dialogue to Delivery: Kenya Champions Shared Prosperity at the Second Canada–Africa Business Summit in Guelph
On 9th July 2026 in Guelph, Ontario, Ambassador Geoffrey E. Kaituko, CBS, Acting High Commissioner of the Republic of Kenya to Canada, took part in the Second Canada–Africa Business Summit 2026, held under the theme “Building Partnerships for Shared Prosperity.” He was joined by Dominique O’Rourke, MP for Guelph and member of the Canada Africa Parliamentary Caucus; representatives of the Government of Kenya and the Ministry of Health; Mike Schreiner, Leader of the Green Party of Ontario and MPP for Guelph; Councillor Leanne Caron of the City of Guelph; and a broad cross-section of industry leaders, founders and entrepreneurs.
In his keynote address, Ambassador Kaituko presented Kenya as a leading commercial, financial and innovation hub. He also underscored Kenya’s role as a strategic gateway to the East African Community (EAC), the Common Market for Eastern and Southern Africa (COMESA), and the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA).
He highlighted strong prospects for deeper Kenya-Canada cooperation in sectors that can deliver tangible impact. These include housing, energy, infrastructure, healthcare, technology, manufacturing and tourism.
Ambassador Kaituko stressed that the next generation of Canada–Africa partnerships must move beyond dialogue and deliver measurable results. These results should include projects financed and completed, investments mobilized, businesses established, jobs created and communities transformed. He called on Canadian investors, businesses and development partners to seize bankable opportunities in Kenya, pursue strategic joint ventures and support public-private partnerships that can accelerate delivery in priority sectors.
He reaffirmed Kenya’s commitment to working closely with Canada, the Province of Ontario, the private sector and other stakeholders to advance a practical roadmap for collaboration. This includes targeted investment promotion, sector-specific business matchmaking, technical follow-up engagements and the implementation of priority projects. Together, these efforts will strengthen trade, drive innovation, expand sustainable infrastructure and promote inclusive economic growth for the shared prosperity of both nations.

Le Haut-Commissariat de la République du Kenya à Ottawa a le plaisir d’annoncer que le Chef de Mission adjoint, S.E. l’Ambassadeur Geoffrey E. Kaituko, CBS, a assumé les fonctions de Chargé d’Affaires par intérim à la suite du départ de S.E. l’Ambassadrice Carolyne Kamende Daudi.
L’Ambassadeur Kaituko apporte à cette fonction une vaste expérience dans la fonction publique, la diplomatie et le leadership. Il a occupé plusieurs hautes fonctions au sein du Gouvernement du Kenya, notamment celle de Secrétaire principal (Principal Secretary), avant d’être nommé Chef de Mission adjoint au Haut-Commissariat du Kenya à Ottawa, où il sert depuis neuf mois.

The Kenya High Commission in Ottawa is pleased to announce that Deputy Head of Mission, Amb. Geoffrey E. Kaituko, CBS, has assumed the responsibilities of Chargé d’Affaires ad interim following the departure of H.E. Amb. Carolyne Kamende Daudi.

Amb. Kaituko brings to this role extensive public service, diplomatic, and leadership experience, having previously served in several senior positions in the Government of Kenya, including as Principal Secretary. He has also served as Deputy Head of Mission at the Kenya High Commission in Ottawa for the past nine months, contributing significantly to the strengthening of Kenya–Canada relations and the advancement of Kenya’s interests in Canada.

The Kenya High Commission in Ottawa looks forward to continued close collaboration with the Government of Canada, the diplomatic community, members of the Kenyan diaspora, and all partners under Amb. Kaituko’s leadership as Chargé d’Affaires.

On 17th June, 2026, HE Carolyne Kamende Daudi received Mr. Kumaran Nadesan, the Group Chief Executive Officer of 369 Global at the Mission.

369 Global is a Canadian workforce development organization focused on building innovative pathways that connect skilled talent to economic opportunity and it recently launched a new policy initiative, Global Skilling Centres, which explores how international partnerships in technical and vocational education can address workforce needs while creating meaningful opportunities for learners in emerging economies.

The discussion explored opportunities for collaboration across areas of mutual interest in line with Kenya's national development priorities.

At the invitation of the Co-operative Development Foundation of Canada (CDF), HE Carolyne Kamende Daudi attended the graduation ceremony of its Women's Mentorship Program(WMP) held at the University of Ottawa today.

Since 2002, the WMP has brought emerging women leaders from credit unions and financial co-operatives across Africa and Asia to Canada for an intensive leadership and Mentorship experience. The Program is supported by the Canadian credit unions, Global Affairs Canada (GAC), volunteers, and host communities. Amb. Kamende was particularly honoured to witness the graduation of 10 women leaders from Kenya.
