Palantir is deeply embedded in the scariest activities of the Trump regime – enabling everything from mass deportations and lawless assassinations in international waters to ethnic cleansing, genocide, and war crimes.

CEO Alex Karp’s recent online manifesto is a truly disturbing, supremacist screed. One UK MP said it “sounds like the ramblings of a supervillain.”

The city of London, England recently canceled a contract with Palantir.

Why is Canada handing nearly $50 million in public money to this creepy company?

Doing business through a secretive contract with this MAGA-aligned tech giant is totally incompatible with the Prime Minister’s promise to defend Canadian sovereignty.

Over the past two years, the Liberal government has repeatedly invoked Section 107 of the Canadian Labour Code, a provision that forces striking workers back to their jobs.

Originally intended to be used in emergency situations, the section has increasingly been used to end negotiations early, without an adequate resolution for workers. Last fall, airline workers were forced back to work after less than 12 hours on strike.

Today, our NDP leader .ca stood up in Ottawa to speak out in concern about some of the aspects of Bill C-22, a piece of legislation which is sparking serious concerns about the privacy of Canadians. We are encouraging Canadians to write to MPs - specifically Liberal MPs - to voice concerns.

The New Democrats will always stand solidly against any legislation that seeks to compromise or invade the privacy of Canadians.

There is no need for more infrastructure for a technology whose sole purpose is to eliminate YOUR job.

It’s time to build affordable homes, a national network of public grocery stores, electric buses and an east-west clean energy grid. Not massive corporate AI data centres unleashed without any democratic debate.

There's also no real data sovereignty in an AI ecosystem dominated by U.S. tech giants. Telus may be Canadian-owned, but it has already transferred 14 petabytes of Canadian data onto Google Cloud as part of its AI strategy.

This is a technology that will bring sweeping changes at a scale and speed never seen before. Canadians deserve real oversight and a robust regulatory framework before we rush ahead.

That’s why we’re calling for an immediate pause on the construction of any new AI data centres until strong federal guardrails are in place.

We can’t sit back and let Big Tech billionaires decide our future for us.
