Please note that the Emergency Room at the Outlook & District Health Centre will be temporarily closed SUNDAY, AUGUST 30, 2026 from 8 am to 4 pm and from 8 pm to midnight.

It will be open from 4 pm to 8 pm with virtual physician services only at that time.

🌳 Fall Elm Pruning Reminder - Sept 1 is fast approaching, that is the opening of the window for pruning elms.

The Town of Outlook prides itself on doing an annual survey with a qualified arborist, assessing our urban forest for disease like DED and others. 2026 has been no exception. Recently, we have directly notified private property owners that have trees that are suspected to have DED.

On the other hand, we are working with less than a handful of confirmed cases in 2026 to remove the affected trees properly. The report can be found on our website, www.townofoutlook.ca

As you prepare your yard for fall, remember that elm pruning is prohibited in Saskatchewan from April 1 to August 31 to help prevent the spread of Dutch Elm Disease.

Please also remember that elm wood must be properly disposed of and cannot be stored or used as firewood. We take elm wood and other wood identified as being affected by disease at the Outlook Regional Landfill. It is not included in the clean wood pile, our permit to operate allows us to take it only with strict adherence to identify it as elm wood at the gate.
