It was an amazing day at SHSAA provincial Cross Country Championships on Saturday! Over 650 runners were vying for top spot in their groups and Calla Erlandson and Soffiah Bang represented OHS and West Central and crushed it! In a field of 100+ U15 girls, Soffiah had a phenomenal run, with a 16th place finish and Calla battled the hills to finish 51st. Just finishing this difficult course was a win, let alone clocking such great placing! Way to go, Blues!!!

It’s our first Student of the Month for the year! We are showcasing two special Blues students in September!

Senior: Claire Alexander - Claire has worked super hard being studious and helping those around her as she has entered grade 8. She is a quiet leader, which can sometimes go unnoticed. That leadership really exploded when she took it upon herself to fundraise $3400 on her own with our recent school wide fundraiser! Great work Claire!

Junior- Helen Tom: Helen assists her friend everyday without complaints about having to carry books to class, helping her in the hall getting to gym, and helps her at the end of the day by helping her get ready to go home down a very busy hallway. What a way to be a friend, Helen!
