Saving the best for last! 🍰🍒

We just wrapped up our final Taste Test Tuesday, and we went out on a deliciously sweet note with our Dessert Round! Our residents sampled three incredible creations that Dining Service Manager Colleen brought to the table for our Fall/Winter menu:

• Classic Pineapple Upside-Down Cake 🍍

• Decadent Black Forest Trifle 🍒🍫

• Rich Pecan Pie Bars 🥧

This was easily the quietest Taste Test Tuesday we’ve ever had—everyone was far too busy licking their lips and scraping every last bit off their plates! Every single dessert was a hit, making it a super tough choice, but after all the votes were counted…

The Black Forest Trifle won by a landslide! 🏆✨

That wraps up our Fall/Winter menu Taste Test series! A huge thank you to all our resident food critics for helping us build a menu full of community favorites. We can’t wait for everyone to enjoy these new dishes all season long! ❤️

It Takes a Village: Supporting Our Residents Every Step of the Way 💙

Moving into a retirement residence is a big milestone, especially when family lives far away.

When Wendy decided to make Owen Sound Gardens her new home, her family was hours away and unable to oversee the move. That’s where our amazing friends at New Journey Organizers Inc stepped in.

They didn't just pack boxes, they provided total peace of mind. From gently sorting through decades of memories to fully setting up and decorating her new suite here at Owen Sound Gardens, and even preparing her former home for sale, they handled every single detail with love and precision.

On move-in day, Wendy walked straight into a warm, fully organized suite that felt like home from minute one.

Thank you to New Journey Organizers for being such an incredible partner to our residents and team!

📍 Thinking about a move for yourself or a loved one? You don't have to navigate it alone. Send us a message or call 519-371-7037 to learn more about our transition support. You can also reach out to New Journey Organizers directly at 519.374.3736 or [email protected]

What an incredible Taste Test Tuesday! 🍝🍖

This week, we kicked off the entree edition of our Taste Test series, and we couldn’t be more excited about the results! Around 25 of our residents joined our Dining Service Manager, Colleen, for an exclusive tasting session to help select new additions for our upcoming Fall/Winter menu.

We firmly believe our residents should always have a direct say in what goes onto their plates, so we put three delicious options to a vote:

• St. Louis Style Ribs (slathered in honey garlic or barbecue sauce)

• Chicken & Broccoli Lasagna in a rich Béchamel sauce

• Warm, comforting Vietnamese Beef Stew

While every dish got fantastic feedback, our St. Louis Style Ribs won by a total landslide! 🏆 Ribs are officially heading to the new Fall/Winter menu!

Thank you so much to everyone who participated and shared their feedback. Stay tuned to see what Colleen has cooking for our next taste test! 🍂✨

At Owen Sound Gardens, great food starts with our residents! 🍂🍽️

Last week, we officially kicked off Week 1 of our Taste Test Tuesday series with a focus on upcoming Fall/Winter menu appetizers! Our Dining Services Manager, Colleen, and her talented culinary team crafted three mouthwatering contenders for our residents to sample, rate, and review:

✨ Decadent Cauliflower Bites

✨ Mini Beef Wellingtons

✨ Mini Sausage Rolls (paired with a delicious Maple Dijon dip!)

Our residents sat in, tasted every option, cast their votes, and gave us direct feedback on what they want to see on their plates this season. Because when it comes to crafting our menu, our residents' voices matter most.

Up next for Week 2: Entrees! Stay tuned to see which dishes win the top spot! 🍴✨

What if my care needs change at Owen Sound Gardens? ❤️🏡

When a resident joins our community, they aren't just moving into a suite—they are becoming part of our family. That means our care and connection don't just stop on move-in day; they grow with you.

We understand that health and wellness can change over time, and thinking about the future can sometimes feel overwhelming. That’s why we do things differently here:

🌿 A Gentle, Relationship-First Approach: Our team members get to know our residents on a truly personal level. We don't "monitor" from afar; we walk alongside you. Because we know your daily routines, we are able to discreetly and gently notice those subtle changes in your well-being.

🤝 Proactive Partnership: We don't wait for a crisis to happen. If we notice you might benefit from a little extra help—whether that's with dressing, mobility, or just general daily tasks—our health and wellness team initiates a warm conversation with you and your family.

🔄 Seamless Adjustments: Your care plan is completely flexible. As your needs evolve, our support evolves with you, ensuring you always have exactly what you need to remain independent, safe, and comfortable.

You never have to navigate life's changes alone. We are here to support you every single step of the way.

When families are looking for a retirement community for their loved ones, "peace of mind" is usually at the very top of their wish list. They want to know that if something happens, their mom or dad won’t be alone.

At Owen Sound Gardens, we take that responsibility to heart. We have dedicated, caring staff available in our building 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. 🛡️✨

🚨 Immediate Assistance: Quick response times for any sudden physical or care needs that pop up during the night.

🔑 Safety & Security: A fully secured building with eyes on the community at all hours.

💬 Genuine Companionship: Honestly, sometimes a resident just wakes up feeling uneasy or can't sleep. If they need a warm smile or a comforting chat at 2:00 AM, our team is right here to listen.

We don't just provide a place to live; we provide a dedicated support system so you and your family can sleep soundly every single night.

I don't drive. How do I get around at Owen Sound Gardens? 🚐✨

Giving up your car keys should never mean giving up your independence, your social life, or your favorite local traditions!

At Owen Sound Gardens, we make sure our residents can easily get wherever they need—and want—to go. We offer a complimentary shuttle service every Tuesday and Thursday to make traveling easy and stress-free.

Here is how our residents love to use the shuttle:

🛒 The Essentials: Heading out for grocery shopping, banking, running errands, or making sure you get to your medical appointments comfortably (especially during those snowy winter months!).

🍔 The Local Favorites: Getting dropped off at the park to enjoy a nice park burger and a stroll in the fresh air.

🎭 The Fun Stuff (Excursions!): We regularly load up the shuttle for community outings! From catching an afternoon play at the Roxy Theatre, to trying our luck at the casino, heading out for group dinners, or taking peaceful, scenic country drives.

At Owen Sound Gardens, you never have to worry about traffic, parking, or icy roads. We do the driving so you can just enjoy the ride!
