Thank you to the Bluewater Quilter's Guild and specifically to Carol Seaman and Kim Clark for helping the grade 3 class design not one but two quilts in the "Grandma's Garden" pattern this year as part of a math learning experience. These quilts will be donated again to members in the community in need of a "hug". The work these women do is so admirable and we are lucky to have them come in each year for this special project. Looking for a summer learning opportunity? ☀️📚

Grade 7 and 8 students can build skills, stay engaged, and grow their confidence through Summer School 2026. Programs include focused math and literacy support, with daily 2-hour live (synchronous) sessions and 2 hours of independent (asynchronous) learning.
Grade 8 students can also earn a Grade 9 reach-ahead credit in courses like English, Math, and Science.

Families are encouraged to act now as elementary school offices close for the summer after Friday, July 3. While families will still be able to register after this date, any questions and follow-up verification steps will need to wait until offices reopen in late August.

Throughout June, our schools and worksites proudly raise/display the Progress Pride Flag and create spaces where every student and staff member can feel seen, respected, and supported.

Grade 8 Graduation will be held Wednesday June 24 at East Ridge (ceremony), followed by a celebration back at Hillcrest. More details on times to come. Each graduate will be permitted 4 tickets. On World Education Support Personnel Day, we celebrate and thank the many education workers in our schools and work sites whose contributions are essential to student success and well-being.

These include staff from the following groups: Educational Support Professionals, Office Professionals and Technicians, Professional Student Services Personnel, and Canadian Union of Public Employees

We appreciate the varied and complex functions they perform every day to support excellence, smooth operations, and safety in our system for the students and families we serve.🙏

A great evening of pizza, Minecraft music, trivia, Minecraft music, laughter, Minecraft music, dancing, improvised games for kids and prizes. Did I mention Minecraft music? Thanks goes out to Hillcrest's School Council for organizing another successful trivia night. Great to see everyone there!
