Christmas in August was a holly jolly good time!

We had so much festive fun celebrating Christmas a little early! We were especially lucky because Santa was able to take some time away from his holidays to come and visit us!

There were so many fun activities to enjoy, including decorating delicious cupcakes, enjoying a yummy snack, shovelling “snow” , making colourful Fruit Loop candy canes, exploring Santa’s Workshop and so much more!

The children had a wonderful time playing, creating, exploring and getting into the Christmas spirit—even in August!
Thank you to everyone who joined us for such a fun and festive day.

Who says you have to wait until December for a little Christmas magic?

As September begins, we know many of our little friends will be heading off to school for the very first time or returning for another exciting year. To all the children starting this new adventure, and those heading back to familiar classrooms, we are wishing you a wonderful year filled with new friendships, learning, laughter, and so many amazing memories. We hope your school year is everything you hope for and more! We will miss seeing some of your smiling faces and can't wait to hear all about your new adventures when you visit us!

September is here, and we have a month full of fun, learning, and exciting activities planned! Check out some of the special programs happening this month:

🧸 Teddy Bear Picnic – Friday, September 4th
Grab your favourite teddy bear and join us at Harrison Park for a fun-filled Teddy Bear Picnic! We are excited to be collaborating with CMHA for this special event. Bring your bear, enjoy the outdoors, and come ready for some picnic fun!

🐾 Zoo to You – Friday, September 11th
Get ready for some wild fun because Zoo to You is coming to visit! Families will have the opportunity to meet and learn about some amazing animals. Spaces are limited, so be sure to watch for registration information and reserve your spot!

🍎 Fun With Food is Back!
Our popular Fun With Food program is returning this month, and we are offering two sessions! Children will have the opportunity to help prepare and make lunch, exploring food and building confidence along the way. Once our lunch is ready, we'll all sit down and enjoy the meal together! It’s a fun and hands-on way to learn, create, and share a meal with friends.

🤸 Kindergym & Parent Fitness
Kindergym and Parent Fitness are continuing this month! Come burn off some energy, get moving, and have fun together. Whether your little one loves to climb, run, jump, and explore, or you're looking for a chance to focus on your own fitness while your child is cared for, we'd love to have you join us!

And that's just some of the fun happening this September! Check out our calendar for all of our programs, dates, and details. We can't wait to see you and your families!

Today was all about getting MESSY!

Our little explorers had so much fun at Messy Play Group, painting with sq**rt guns, playing with bubbles, digging in dirt, squishing mud, exploring sand, getting creative with kitchen items, and cooling off in the sprinkler! There were lots of messy hands, wet clothes, big smiles, and plenty of laughter! 😄

Messy play is so much more than just making a mess! It encourages children to explore, experiment, and use their imagination. It also helps develop fine and gross motor skills, hand-eye coordination, sensory awareness, creativity, problem-solving, language, and social skills. Best of all, it gives children the freedom to learn through hands-on play and discover the world around them using all of their senses.

Sometimes the messiest play creates the best memories!

Tie Dye Day!

Today was all about colour, creativity, and getting a little messy! The children had so much fun helping put the elastics on their shirts, choosing their favourite colours, and helping apply the dye. We now have some colourful creations wrapped up and drying, and we can’t wait to see the big reveal when they’re ready!

Tie dye is more than just fun—it gives children the opportunity to explore their creativity, make choices, experiment with colours, and develop fine motor skills while putting on elastics and helping with the dye. It also encourages independence, confidence, and a sense of pride as they help create something uniquely their own!

Stay tuned for the finished shirts! We’re excited to see how everyone’s designs turn out!

Today's Park Play at Kelso Beach came with a special surprise! 🐛

While exploring the climber, one of the children discovered a beautiful Monarch caterpillar!

Monarch caterpillars only eat milkweed, which is the only plant they can survive on. After growing and shedding their skin several times, they form a stunning green chrysalis decorated with tiny gold dots. In about 10–14 days, they emerge as one of the beautiful monarch butterflies we all love to see.

Finding a monarch caterpillar is a wonderful reminder of the amazing wildlife all around us. Moments like these encourage children to slow down, observe, ask questions, and build a lifelong appreciation for nature. You never know what exciting discoveries are waiting during a day of outdoor play! 🌿🦋
