Please yield to the right for green flashing lights as they approach. Our crews operate green flashing light when responding to the fire station, this helps with a timely response. 🚒🟢

🚨 Emergency Vehicles & Flashing Green Lights – Know What to Do! 🚨
We’ve received concerns from residents about drivers not properly yielding to emergency vehicles—especially at busy intersections like Hwy. 89 & Industrial Parkway.
Here’s what you need to know:

✅ Emergency Vehicles (Police, Fire Trucks, Ambulances)
When you see flashing red or blue lights or hear sirens:
• Slow down
• Signal
• Pull over to the right and stop
• Wait until the vehicle has passed before merging back into traffic

🚦 Flashing Green Lights = Volunteer Firefighters Responding to Emergencies
In Ontario, volunteer firefighters may use flashing green lights on their personal vehicles when responding to emergencies.
While not legally required, yielding to these vehicles is a courtesy that can save lives. Every second counts in an emergency.

👀 What to Look For:
• Green strobe or dome lights in the windshield or on the roof
• No sirens – just the light and possibly a horn honk

Our sincere condolences go out to Firefighter Brad Fielding’s family, friends and colleagues.

The Council of the Town of Perth and Perth Fire Services wish to extend heartfelt condolences to the family, friends, and colleagues of Volunteer Firefighter Brad Fielding, who passed away suddenly on September 2, 2025.

Born and raised in Perth, Brad joined the department in 2022 and quickly became a valued member of the firefighting family. Following in the footsteps of his father and uncle, both retired firefighters, his commitment to the fire service reflected a proud family legacy of courage, sacrifice, and community service. His loss will be deeply felt by many.

In his honour, the flags at Town Hall and the Fire Hall have been lowered to half-mast.
