Camping and cottage nights are for relaxing - not reacting

With peak season in full swing, campfires and BBQs are everywhere. But one unattended flame can spread fast in dry conditions.

Don’t leave it till it’s out:
✔ Pour water on it
✔ Stir it up to ensure no hidden embers
✔ Make sure it’s completely cool

Because the only thing that should be spreading this summer is good vibes.

Summer has brought plenty of heat and some powerful storms through the County of Brant, making for a busy month for our firefighters. ⛈🔥

Our crews responded to 112 incidents throughout July, from fires and medical calls to vehicle incidents and more.

Thank you to all of our dedicated firefighters for their time, training and commitment to keeping our community safe.

🚒🔥 JR Firefighter Camp 2026 was a huge success! 🔥🚒

Our Junior Firefighters had a great time at this year’s camps in Scotland and St. George! They learned about fire safety, EMS, fire extinguishers and what it’s like to be a firefighter.

A huge thank you to our Fire Prevention Officers and County of Brant Camp Staff, who led the camp and gave the campers an unforgettable experience.

We’re also beyond grateful to all of the volunteer firefighters and community partners who helped make each camp a success, including Brant OPP Ontario Provincial Police - West Region , Brant-Brantford Paramedic Services and Ontario Office of the Fire Marshal !

📦 A special shoutout to Smurfit Westrock for donating the cardboard cutouts used to create our box maze! The campers had a chance to work their way through blacked-out rooms, mock electrical wiring and fallen debris while looking for hazards along the way. It was a fun, hands-on way to give them a taste of what firefighters may face in a fire.

Thank you to everyone who helped make JR Firefighter Camp 2026 such a great experience. We can’t wait for next year!

That’s a wrap on another great season of Challenger Baseball! ⚾️

Paris Firefighters Club were honoured to join the Paris Youth Softball Association for the final night of the season.

It was a hard-fought game, with plenty of great plays, big smiles and lots of fun on the field. Our firefighters had a great time being part of the action and sharing the evening with such an incredible group of athletes.

A huge thank you to all of the athletes for welcoming us and showing us what teamwork, enthusiasm and sportsmanship are all about.

And to the all the coaches, PYSA volunteers, families, County staff and Jays Care Foundation, thank you for everything you do to make Challenger Baseball such a special program in our community.

We were proud to be part of the season and look forward to seeing everyone back on the field next year! 🚒⚾️
