These sites help tell the story of the people who have lived on these lands over thousands of years and why archaeological resources need to be understood and protected.

The County is developing its first Archaeological Management Plan to help guide this work.

Need a recycling bin? Blue Boxes and Blue Box Lids are available for purchase at any County of Brant Customer Service Office or Solid Waste Facility ♻️

Blue Box: $10.00
Blue Box Lid: $3.50 (Please note, lids only fit the large 22 gallon blue boxes)

Please note that all sales of blue boxes are final; returns, exchanges, and refunds are not accepted.

⭐ Free Blue Boxes: For residents in a newly constructed home, or for replacement of a damaged blue box (maximum of 2), free blue boxes can be picked up at the below locations during operating hours. No appointment necessary.

Residents will be required to provide their address and contact information. It is not required to return the broken blue box(es).

Paris Optimist Skate Park Closure: Thursday, October 22 🛹

Please note that the Paris Optimist Skate Park at Syl Apps Community Centre will be closed on Thursday, October 22 for scheduled maintenance.

The skate park is expected to reopen on Friday, October 23. Thank you for your understanding.

Exciting news, Brant - We are reaching the finish line on the 2026 Downtown Dig construction!

Here is your mid-week update as we put on the final touches:

🎉 The William Street and Grand River Street North intersection is opening this week. We are targeting late Friday, October 23, or Saturday, October 24.

⚠ Please note, Emily Street and Charlotte Street will be returning to their normal two-way traffic flows. Pay close attention. Please drive cautiously and keep an eye out for pedestrians as everyone adjusts to the area.

⭐ Veterans Crosswalk
The veteran’s crosswalk will be completed shortly. We are honoured to celebrate the 100th Anniversary of the Royal Canadian Legion in our communities. Watch for the upcoming post celebrating this new crosswalk.

🚧 Final paving on Grand River Street North (between Mechanic Street and the Nith River Bridge) is scheduled for next week (expected to start on Tuesday). This paving is expected to only take a few days.

We will keep you informed about the timing and upcoming short-term traffic changes as this final paving occurs near the Nith River Bridge. Once this final paving occurs, the Downtown Dig detours will be complete and Downtown Paris will be fully open!

Please note that this work depends on the weather. We will keep you posted right here on Facebook and Instagram.

Did you know? The County of Brant does not have a by-law permitting on-road ATV (all-terrain vehicle) or ORV (off-road vehicle) use.

❌️ Driving your ATV or ORV on the road is not permitted. This includes public spaces such as sidewalks and parks.

Off-road vehicle riders are not permitted on private property without permission. In some cases, riders have caused damage to the property and fields. Being on private property, without permission from the property owner, is a violation under the Trespass to Property Act and could subject riders to charges.

Be a responsible rider by following laws and wearing approved helmets to reduce the risk of injuries.
