This campaign was created by frontline paramedics to bring awareness to mental health challenges and su***de within the first responder community. It’s a reminder that behind the uniform, we’re human too.
We see the difficult calls. We experience the trauma. We carry things home that others may never fully understand. And sometimes, the people who spend their lives showing up for everyone else need someone to show up for them.
That’s what this campaign is about.
It’s about breaking the stigma around mental health, checking in on our brothers and sisters, supporting one another through the tough days, and making sure no first responder feels they have to fight their battles alone.
Whether you wear the uniform in Fire, EMS, Police, Emergency Communications, Nursing, Corrections or the Military — you matter, your mental health matters, and you are never alone.
These hoodies represent something bigger than our department. They represent a commitment to looking out for each other, starting the conversations that matter, and reminding our first responder family that someone always has their back.
Look after your crew. Check in on your people. And remember, it’s okay to not be okay. ❤️

A working smoke alarm can give you the early warning you need to get out safely in a fire. Don’t wait until it’s too late and encourage your family, friends and neighbours to do the same.

In 2022, fire fatalities reached a record high in Ontario - the highest we'd seen in 20 years. In too many of these cases, it was determined there were no working smoke alarms in the home.

The Office of the Fire Marshal (OFM) set out to create a province-wide campaign to raise awareness about the importance of working smoke alarms. The result? Test Your Smoke Alarm Day and the "Saved By The Beep!" public education campaign every September 28. For the past two years, you've shown up and supported this initiative in-person, pledged to test your smoke alarms every month, and shared this important message on social media using the hashtag .

Let's keep that momentum going! Remember - we can all be saved by the beep!

pleased to announce that Firefighter Wes Mitchell
has obtained both the Operations and the Technician
certifications for NFPA 1006 Common Passenger
Vehicle Rescue. Topics covered include:
• basic scene assessment, hazard recognition, and
responder safety.
• Operations Level: Focuses on practical tool selection,
stabilization, and patient access.
• Technician Level: Trains responders in complex
disentanglement and multiple-vehicle extrication
scenarios.

If you mastered water bottle flipping or your camera roll has photos with the dog filter, it’s time to check the date on your smoke alarm.


This is what ten years ago looks like. Time flies and if your smoke alarms are 10 years old, it is time to replace them.



Look on the back or the side of the alarm to find the expiry date. Replace the alarms even if the alarm still chirps or tests okay.
