🎉 Exciting news! The ice is officially going in at the HMS Insurance Centre! ⛸️🏒

But did you know there’s a little more to getting the rink ready than just making ice? Each year, our amazing Community Services staff start by painting the ice white before designing and hand-painting the centre ice line themselves!

It’s a true labour of love and one of the many behind-the-scenes details that helps make our rink look its best for another season.

A huge thank you to our Community Services Department for all their hard work getting the rink ready. We can’t wait to welcome everyone back for another great season! 🏒⛸️

North Middlesex municipal staff attended the 2026 Association of Municipalities of Ontario (AMO) Conference, joining municipal leaders, provincial representatives, and sector partners from across Ontario to discuss key priorities and emerging issues affecting communities throughout the province.

As part of the conference, municipal staff participated in a delegation with the Ministry of Education, providing an important opportunity to advocate for the continued strength and sustainability of our rural schools.

North Middlesex was also represented through Ward 2 Councillor Bill Irwin, who participated as a panelist in a discussion focused on protecting democracy and strengthening local governance.

Participation in the Conference provides North Middlesex with valuable opportunities to strengthen relationships with provincial representatives, advocate for local priorities, and ensure the needs and perspectives of rural communities continue to be represented at the provincial level.
