You may have noticed some new EVFD vehicles driving around Errington recently.
As our service needs continue to evolve, weโve recently replaced two of our trucks to better serve our community. Rest assured, these vehicles have gone to a great home and will continue serving their new communities well. โค๏ธ

Our new Command Truck, designated C-25, replaces our older truck C-21. C-25 is primarily used by our Chief or Duty Officer, who remains on-call around the clock and can respond quickly from home or from the hall when emergencies happen.

Our newest engine, Squad 231, was acquired from Nanoose Bay Volunteer Fire Department, replacing Engine 211.
This multi-purpose vehicle is ideal for rescue and remote incidents, as it can travel through terrain that our larger fire engines cannot access. Squad 231 is equipped with:
โ๏ธ Medical / First Responder tools
โ๏ธ Rope rescue systems
โ๏ธ Trail rescue apparatus
โ๏ธ Powerful roof-mounted lighting
โ๏ธ Full firefighting capability for structure, vehicle, and brush fires
The roof-mounted lighting system is especially valuable for the dark road conditions we often encounter here in Errington.
๐ฒ C-21 and Engine 211 were both acquired by Pineview Fire Protection Services near Hedley, BC โ another rural department serving communities just like ours. Please give them a follow!
๐ A few weeks ago, our members had the honour of โpushing inโ Squad 231 once it became response ready. This is a proud fire service tradition dating back to the horse-drawn firefighting days.
