We have had a few team members reach out to us to make sure that they have not missed a request (and you haven't!). It's been quieter these last few weeks.

But it has been the opposite at Parry Sound Harvest Share, so if you're able to help them to fill their shelves (they have the most needed items listed every week) that would be an amazing thing. Some staples are needed - like peanut butter, Kraft Dinner, spagetti and tuna.

We know your schedule is busy- we’re here to help!

At Harvest Share, we believe that work schedules should never be a barrier to accessing fresh, nutritious food. That’s why, once every 28 days, we offer special evening appointments specifically for those who can’t make it during our regular daytime hours.

Our next evening appointments are on Thursday, February 12th between 4-6pm, pick up at 93 James St.

Spaces are limited, so please call us at (705) 774-9111 to schedule your appointment

Our busiest summer to date. And we know that there are more expenses coming up with all things back to school.

Thank you to those who have been so supportive over the course of this summer. We know that it has been a busy one, but we've managed to help EVERY SINGLE FAMILY that has been referred!

More help to come with our Thanksgiving Event - PS Area Turkeys for Tummies in October, but we're really appreciating all of the support from our Food Relief volunteers!

Hello,

We have a request for diapers for our drop on Wednesday.

Usually, we use gift cards to purchase the diapers but the brand of diapers is only available at Walmart (and our gift card stash is for No Frills).

Is there anyone out there that would be able to pick up a box of these diapers in size 6 for us? If so, please PM and we can provide you with the drop off details.

With every referral that comes in, we take our time going over the grocery list with the recipient and their family.

Although we have a "stock" grocery list (which consists of 7 categories - 2 produce, meat, grains, dairy, household and misc.), we always take a minute to hear what's needed.

Like if there's a certain brand or flavour of yogurt that your family likes, or if you're diabetic, gluten-free, or have a peanut allergy.

This means we can be flexible when going over the list, and make sure that the items our volunteers are buying are what the family will enjoy.

~ agree to purchase the item, and drop it off at 1 of our 2 drop locations the next day

That’s it!

🍎 For example - hey Krista, can you pick up a brick of marble cheese for a single mom with 3 kids? Sure!

Go to store, buy cheese, and drop it off the next day (you will never be asked the same day). The drop locations are conveniently located in town and then you drop the item into the appropriate cooler.
