Recently the store added a new AED and underwent training on how to intervene and offer life-saving support to customers experiencing a heart emergency

Joking aside- We at Pasadena Fire Rescue applaud the thoughtful undertaking, well placed AEDs are a huge benefit to the community! ⛑️

Controlled water release into Deer Lake begins today

Residence near the river should stay alert and monitor conditions closely

low lying and flood prone areas should be prepared in case conditions worsen

stay away from riverbanks, shorelines and fast moving water. Do not attempt to cross flooded or cut off areas.

For our residents living along the Lake please get your properties ready for an increasing level of water

⚠ PUBLIC NOTICE ⚠

Deer Lake Power advises residents of Deer Lake and nearby communities that beginning on Friday, May 15th, at approximately noon, spill gates at Main Dam will be opened for a controlled release of water from the reservoir.

The release is required to maintain a safe water elevation in the Grand Lake Reservoir.

The duration of the release is currently unknown.

What to Expect:
• Water will be released over Main Dam, through Junction Brook and into the Upper Humber River.
• Water levels will rise during the spilling period and may continue to fluctuate in the following days.
• Areas that are currently accessible by land may become submerged or cut off.

Safety Reminder:
Please use caution near shorelines and waterways. Be aware of potential hazards, including:
• Slippery or unstable banks
• Strong currents
• Floating debris

Please remain vigilant and monitor for changing conditions.

Continue to monitor local updates for further information.
