Please note the following information provided by Mayor Van Minsel in accordance with Emergency Operations Centre Protocols.

For those who have been concerned about transportation in the event that an evacuation is required, please be assured that established Emergency Operations Centre (EOC) protocols are in place to support residents and help ensure everyone can evacuate safely.

When an evacuation is triggered, the RCMP coordinates the evacuation, with support from BC Wildfire Service (BCWS) and BC Search and Rescue personnel. Emergency teams will attend the affected area to notify residents and assist with the evacuation process.

Residents who are unable to evacuate on their own will be provided assistance. Where appropriate, residents may be paired with neighbours who are able to help with transportation. If necessary, emergency personnel will assist residents directly with transportation and evacuation.

Depending on the circumstances, residents may typically be given approximately 30 minutes to one hour to evacuate. However, if conditions require an immediate evacuation, residents will be directed to leave without delay.

Please follow the directions of the RCMP and emergency personnel. Evacuation procedures and timelines may change depending on the nature and severity of the emergency.

Drop by the Peachland Wellness Centre and Food Bank anytime Monday thru Thursday between 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

We have a cool environment with a seating area great for playing cards and socializing - we also have snacks and refreshments available.

Come in, have a chat, relax and spend a little time with us!

No appointment needed - just drop by. Everyone is welcome.
