RESCINDED: Precautionary Boil Water Notice Rescinded for MacGregor Road

The precautionary Boil Water Notice that was put in place on August 31 for portions of MacGregor Road is now rescinded after two consecutive negative bacteriological samples indicated the system is functioning normally.

With water services restored, properties may experience air, discoloured water or sediment in service lines. Property owners are advised to run cold taps until conditions improve.

📢 Labour Day Office Closure

District of Peachland Municipal Hall will be closed on Monday, September 7 for Labour Day. Regular office hours will resume on Tuesday, September 8 at 8:00 AM.

Interested in running for Mayor, Councillor or School Trustee in the 2026 General Local Election?

Completed nomination documents can be submitted to the Chief/Deputy Chief Election Officer at the District of Peachland Municipal Hall, Monday to Friday from 8 AM to 4 PM (excluding holidays). Appointments are preferred.

Nomination packages are available for pick up at Municipal Hall.

📆 Nomination deadline: Friday, September 11 at 4 PM.
Individuals whose completed nomination documents are received by the deadline will be officially declared candidates.

Classic Elton Tribute Concert – Parking Impacts

The Peachland Legion Branch #69, in partnership with the District of Peachland and IGA, will host an outdoor Classic Elton Tribute Concert at Cousins Park this Labour Day weekend.

The concert takes place on Saturday, September 5, 2026, with gates opening at 2:30 pm and the show kicking off at 4:00 pm.

To accommodate the event, the entire Community Centre parking lot, including the small parking area adjacent to the Art Gallery, will be closed for the duration of the Labour Day weekend.

Event attendees are encouraged to arrive early and allow extra time to find parking along Beach Avenue. Please be prepared to walk and be respectful of nearby residents by ensuring driveways and private accesses are not blocked.

Precautionary Boil Water Notice for Portions of MacGregor Road

The District has completed an emergency repair to a water main affecting homes on MacGregor Road. To bring the line back into service, crews will be flushing the distribution system.

Impacted properties are:
• MacGregor Road: 5873, 5876, 5884, 5885, 5894, 5895, 5907, 5908, 2-5908, 5909, 5911, 5914, 2-5914, 5915, 5918
• Somerset Avenue: 5888

As water service is restored, residents may experience air in the lines, discoloured water or sediment. If this occurs, run your cold water taps until the water runs clear.

Residents should take any necessary precautions to protect hot water tanks and other plumbing fixtures or appliances from possible damage. The District accepts no liability for damage resulting from interrupted water service.

As required by Interior Health, a Precautionary Boil Water Notice is now in effect and will remain in place until two (2) negative bacteriological water samples have been received.

While the Notice is in effect, bring water to a rolling boil for at least one minute prior to using for drinking, making ice, cooking, washing food or brushing teeth.

At this time, they are not legal in any BC municipality, except those participating in the provincial pilot project. A disappointing message to share. Please don't fly drones near wildfires. Leave room for our firefighters and emergency responders to do their jobs.

We are currently assisting Peachland Fire and Rescue Services in response to K51966, located southwest of Peachland. Our crews and fire department personnel are onsite working along the flanks of the fire, which is currently under one hectare in size. A drone was spotted during our initial response to this incident, forcing aerial resources to adjust response tactics to ensure the safety of responders. When you fly a drone or UAV near or over a wildfire, you're breaking the law and endangering firefighting personnel. Transport Canada and the BC Wildfire Service explicitly prohibit the use of drones or UAVs of any size near a wildfire.

All wildfires are automatically “flight restricted” according to federal Canadian Aviation Regulations. The restricted area is within a radius of five nautical miles around any smoke or fire and to an altitude of 3,000 feet above ground level.
