Nomination packages are now available for anyone interested in running for SLRD Electoral Area Director in Areas A, B, C & D.

EVACUATION ALERT UPDATED – AREA B, Pear Lake Wildfire

Based on consultation with BC Wildfire Service, the SLRD has updated the Evacuation Alert area for the Pear Lake wildfire.

While some properties have been removed from the Evacuation Alert area, an Evacuation Alert remains in place for several properties.

The Evacuation Order for Pear Lake remains in place.

ℹResidents are reminded that wildfire can be unpredictable. When you are on Evacuation Alert, you should prepare to leave at a moment’s notice.

Based on consultation with BC Wildfire Service, the SLRD has rescinded the Evacuation Order and Evacuation Alert for the Bonanza Creek wildfire. There are currently no Evacuation Orders or Evacuation Alerts in the SLRD due to this wildfire.

Pear Lake Wildfire Recovery – Door-to-Door Outreach, Thursday, September 3
SLRD staff will be conducting door-to-door outreach around midday Thursday, September 3, for SLRD residents who were under evacuation order due to the Pear Lake wildfire.

Staff will provide information about a free fridge and freezer collection taking place Friday, September 4, hand out Canadian Red Cross clean-up kits, answer questions and share resources about returning home, recovery supports and waste disposal.

Residents who want a fridge or freezer collected should have it sealed with duct tape and placed at the roadside by 7 a.m. Friday, September 4. If you need help moving an appliance from your home, call the SLRD in advance at 1-844-815-6199 so assistance can be arranged.

EVACUATION MEASURES UPDATE – Bonanza Creek wildfire

Evacuation measures have been updated for the Bonanza Creek wildfire in Electoral Area A.

The changes include:
â–ª Some of the Evacuation Order area has been Rescinded to "All Clear".
â–ª Some of the Evacuation Order area has been downgraded to Evacuation Alert.
â–ª Some Evacuation Alert areas have been Rescinded to "All Clear".
â–ª Some areas remain under Evacuation Order or Evacuation Alert.

An Evacuation Alert Rescind has also been issued for a mapped area associated with the Pear Lake wildfire in Electoral Area B. The rescinded area does not include any parcels or properties currently under Evacuation Alert. There is no change to the evacuation status of properties currently under Alert due to the Pear Lake wildfire.

Work on the sewer tie-in in Bralorne Townsite 2 will take place on September 1 and 2, 2026.

Work will take place from 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day. Crews will be excavating across the end of Lorne Street, below the ball park. During the work, access to the Noel Forest Service Road and access to Whiting Avenue from Lorne Street will be temporarily disrupted.

Residents and visitors are asked to use caution around the work area, follow posted signs and directions from crews, and allow extra time when travelling through the area.

Based on consultation with BC Wildfire Service, the SLRD has rescinded the Evacuation Alert for the Twin Two Creek wildfire in Electoral Area C.

The SLRD has assessed that the potential danger to life and health has subsided to the point that the Evacuation Alert issued on Aug. 12, 2026, is no longer required.

Please note that some recreation sites in the area may remain closed or unavailable for public use while BC Wildfire Service continues to use locations for wildfire response and staging.

EVACUATION ALERT - Electoral Area B, Seton Portage Debris Flow

Based on recommendations from geotechnical engineers (BGC Engineering), an Evacuation Alert has been issued by the Squamish-Lillooet Regional District due to the Seton Portage debris flow event that has occurred in Electoral Area B.

Because of the potential danger to life and health, the Squamish-Lillooet Regional District has issued an Evacuation Alert for the following properties:
