In last night’s 6-0 victory over Cornwall, your “PFD Player of the Game” is Almonte, ON native Jack Ferguson, who turned in a 33-save shutout with multiple scintillating saves! Meanwhile, Ottawa's Tucker Clare earns “Garrison Petawawa Warrior of the Game” honors for his stalwart play in the D-zone, including four blocked shots! Great work, lads!

This week we are sending out gratitude to our partners, supporters, donors and volunteers by shining a spotlight on the immense work that goes on behind the scenes to make our mission possible.

Today we'd like to recognize the many Ottawa Valley community organizations who support Fire Team K9 Service Dogs with donations, event space and opportunities for our teams to engage in community programming.

▪️Thanksgiving is a time to gather with family and friends.. but it’s also the peak day for home cooking fires with more than three times the daily average for such incidents.
Unattended cooking was by far the leading contributing factor in cooking fires and fire deaths.
👉🏻Follow these fire safety tips below to keep you and your family over this holiday weekend
✅ Stay in the kitchen when you are cooking on the stove top so you can keep an eye on the food.
✅ Stay in the home when cooking your turkey, and check on it frequently.
✅ Keep children away from the stove. The stove will be hot and kids should stay three feet away.
✅ Make sure kids stay away from hot food and liquids. The steam or splash from vegetables, gravy or coffee could cause serious burns.
✅ Keep knives out of the reach of children.
✅ Be sure electric cords from an electric knife, coffee maker, plate warmer or mixer are not dangling off the counter within easy reach of a child.
✅ Keep matches and utility lighters out of the reach of children — up high in a locked cabinet.
✅ Never leave children alone in room with a lit candle.
✅ Keep the floor clear so you don’t trip over kids, toys, pocketbooks or bags.
✅ Make sure your smoke and CO alarms are working and on each level of your home. Test them by pushing the test button.

✈️ On a Flight? Keep It Insight.👀
When charging on a plane, keep portable charging devices on the tray table.
▪️Do not charge devices in overhead compartments and never charge e-cigarettes or vapes on a plane. If a battery overheats or fails, it is important for the flight crew to be able to respond quickly.
