A strong Pembroke needs strong local businesses.

I spent some time downtown speaking directly with local business owners about their experiences, their challenges and what we can do to help businesses succeed in Pembroke.

Our entrepreneurs invest in this community. They create jobs, fill storefronts, bring people downtown and help give Pembroke its character. City Hall should be a partner in that success (Community Improvement Plan) — listening to businesses, removing unnecessary barriers and creating an environment where existing businesses can grow and new investment is welcomed.
Supporting local business means supporting our entire community.

Let’s keep building a community for everyone.

I believe community engagement means listening first and making sure your voice helps shape the decisions made at City Hall. One of the biggest challenges I've seen this term is that, in some cases, too few residents took part, especially at budget meetings where key decisions are made. I know we can do better, and together we will fix that.

As Mayor, I will bring City Hall to you. I'll hold neighbourhood meetings and Walk and Talk visits on your streets. With our community partners, we will host a Housing For All Summit to find real housing solutions and grow our revenue base. I'll create Youth Roundtable sessions so young people have a voice in youth initiatives and programming. With City Council's support, we will also bring back the Seniors Advisory Committee so our seniors' experience helps guide the decisions that affect them.

Let's build a more connected Pembroke together.

Brian believes Pembroke needs a practical, community-wide plan to make housing attainable and affordable for everyone.
That’s why we will convene a Housing For All Summit—bringing together builders, landlords, non-profit housing providers, service agencies, local employers, residents, seniors, students, and every level of government to focus on real solutions at no cost to the tax payer.

The goal is simple: identify the barriers, build partnerships, and develop an action plan to increase the housing options our community needs—from attainable starter homes and rental units to supportive housing. A strong community needs homes for young people starting out, families raising children, workers filling local jobs, and seniors who want to downsize.

Pembroke can grow responsibly, support local investment, and make sure no one is left behind. The Housing For All Summit will be a place to listen, collaborate, and move from discussion to action.

Let’s work together to make Pembroke a community where everyone has a place to call home.
