2026 LV OUSTANDING YOUTH AWARDS

At the Regular Council Meeting held on Tuesday, June 16, the Mayor was pleased to present the 2026 Township of Laurentian Valley Outstanding Youth Awards, recognizing a group of exceptional students for their leadership, dedication, and positive contributions within their schools and community.

The 2026 LV Outstanding Youth Award recipients are:

This is just a friendly reminder that Weekly Green Cart Collection is back and began the first week of June. This will continue through July, August, and September.

This is for food waste and organics in the green cart ONLY. Extra paper bags or containers during this time period will NOT be collected. Please use only paper bags to line your green cart if you choose to use a liner. Bags marked as compostable aren’t always compostable.

What an incredible time at the 2026 AORS Municipal Public Works Trade Show!

With around 1,500 visitors in attendance, the event was a huge success. The positive impact extended throughout the community, with local hotels, restaurants, and businesses seeing a significant boost and many selling out completely.

Thank you to everyone who attended, exhibited, sponsored, and supported the event. Your participation helped make it a truly memorable experience!!

There is only THREE DAYS left to pick up a plant if you are ages 16 and under as of May 1, 2026. You can participate in the 10th Annual Junior Gardeners Competition by registering and picking up a plant for free at Sunset Nursery, Garden Center & Greenhouses (located at 2177 Greenwood Rd) from May 22 to June 14, 2026.

We’re happy to share that the Pleasant View court has been repaired and is now open for the season!

The courts are ready for play, and we look forward to seeing residents and visitors enjoying the facility throughout the summer. Thank you for your patience during the repairs.
