This Canada Day, celebrate the history that built Pembroke!

Join us on July 1 from 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Waterfront Park for the Generations Tent, a unique intergenerational experience dedicated to sharing the stories, people, and places that have shaped our community.

Step inside and explore local history through authentic artifacts in partnership with the Upper Ottawa Valley Heritage Centre. Discover fascinating pieces of Pembroke's past and learn how they connect to the community we know today.

Throughout the afternoon, local residents will share their personal memories, experiences, and reflections on life in Pembroke, bringing history to life through the voices of those who have lived it.

Whether you're a lifelong resident, new to the area, or simply curious about our community's roots, the Generations Tent offers a welcoming space for all ages to learn, connect, and celebrate the heritage that unites generations.

June 21 is National Indigenous Peoples Day, a day to recognize and celebrate the rich cultures, traditions, languages, and knowledge of First Nations, Inuit, and Métis Peoples.

In Pembroke, we acknowledge that we are located on the traditional and unceded territory of the Algonquin Anishnaabe people. Today is an opportunity to learn, reflect, and celebrate the enduring presence and contributions of Indigenous Peoples in our community and across Canada.

We invite residents and visitors to join Waka-Ehi Lodge and community partners at the Riverwalk Amphitheatre at Waterfront Park from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. for a free celebration featuring live music, cultural teachings, traditional drumming, Indigenous artisans and vendors, children's activities, a community BBQ, and more.

We hope you'll join us in celebrating Indigenous culture, heritage, and community.
