Pense, Saskatchewan is a quiet town with a population of just over 500 that celebrated its 100th year as a Village in 2004. Centrally located in the Regina-Moose Jaw Corridor, it is an ideal location for new business and commuters as it provides a secure, lower cost alternative to the nearby cities. Services include a volunteer fire department and an emergency response team. Water in Pense comes from the City of Regina's main line and a new 100,000 gallon reservoir was built in 2006. The streets are well maintained throughout the seasons with grading, gravelling, snow plowing and removal. Other amenities include a full service Post Office, the Town Hall, which can be rented for social functions, the Memorial Rink, the Lions Splash Park and recreation area and ball diamond. The community of Pense defies the common misconception that there is nothing to do in a small town. The Recreation Board concerns itself with the physical fitness and wellness of the community. It offers various courses and programs throughout the year as well as lending financial support to many recreational organizations in Pense. The Pense Community Fitness Club has a gym with lots of modern equipment to help residents stay In Motion year round. In the winter, the Pense Memorial Rink is always busy with hockey, curling and figure skating. Always quick to welcome newcomers, the residents of Pense are an eclectic mix of farm families descending from the original settlers, senior citizens, young families and people who work in the cities or at the nearby communities. They are hard working and fun-loving people who readily extend a helping hand to neighbors and strangers alike.

UPDATE – August 12, 2026, 4:30 p.m. – The PDWA has been rescinded for the entire Town.
The Precautionary Drinking Water Advisory has been lifted. Residents can return to normal water use. Thank you for your patience.

UPDATE - Monday, August 10

The water main repairs were completed today. Thank you for your patience and cooperation while this work was underway.

No further water restrictions are required. However, the Precautionary Drinking Water Advisory (PDWA) remains in effect while the required water sampling and testing is completed.

Please continue to follow the PDWA until further notice.

Stay tuned for further updates.

TOWN WIDE PRECAUTIONARY DRINKING WATER ADVISORY - Friday, August 7

A Precautionary Drinking Water Advisory (PDWA) is now in effect for the entire Town of Pense due to a watermain break on the main incoming water line just north of town.

Please boil all water used for drinking, cooking, brushing teeth, washing fruits and vegetables, making ice, and other activities where water may be ingested until further notice.

To help preserve the water supply, we ask all residents to reduce unnecessary water use throughout the weekend. Please postpone activities such as lawn watering, vehicle washing, and other non-essential water use whenever possible.

Crews will begin repairs to the watermain on Monday, and we will provide updates as more information becomes available.

Please help us spread the word by sharing this information with your neighbours, especially those who may not regularly use social media.

Thank you for your patience and cooperation.
