Report cybercrime and fraud!

Only a small percentage of cybercrimes or frauds are reported to police in Canada, making it difficult for law enforcement to keep up with the ever-changing threat landscape.

To make it easier for Canadians and businesses to report cybercrime and fraud, we have developed a new reporting system in collaboration with the Canadian Anti-Fraud Centre.

🚨 Robbery investigation update 🚨

A 27-year-old Penticton man has been charged with Robbery, Assault with a Weapon, and Disguise with Intent in connection with a September 11 robbery in Penticton.

The investigation remains ongoing and investigators are still looking to speak with the driver of a silver Ford Ta**us who may have information related to the incident.

Anyone with information who has not yet spoken with police is asked to call Penticton RCMP at 250-492-4300 and reference file 2026-15066.

October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month

The Penticton South Okanagan Similkameen Regional RCMP Detachment launched the “Not in My Community” campaign to emphasize early recognition of harmful behaviours, including coercive control, intimidation, threats, and isolation. Education efforts will focus on helping residents identify warning signs and connect individuals with appropriate services before violence escalates. The campaign has also raised awareness among youth in local schools to sharing marketing materials to encourage reporting.

Earlier this year a dedicated RCMP Intimate Partner Violence Coordinator was created. The role has overseen the highest-risk domestic violence investigations and has provided guidance and risk assessment support to frontline officers handling domestic violence files in the south Okanagan. This approach has strengthened case management, enhanced information sharing with partner agencies, and improved long-term safety planning.

As local election campaign activity gets underway, Penticton South Okanagan Similkameen Regional RCMP has received reports of vandalism involving campaign signs. Police would like to remind residents that stealing, damaging, or defacing campaign signs may constitute criminal offences, including theft and mischief.

Penticton South Okanagan Similkameen Regional RCMP encourages everyone to express their views through lawful and respectful participation in the democratic process and to report suspicious activity to police.
