cial development is anticipated; residential development is thriving. Quality of life in the Town of Petawawa is enhanced by the abundance of water and forested lands. The white waters of the Petawawa River meet the heritage waters of the Ottawa River. Many of our recreational programs involve paddle sports and water leisure activities such as fishing and boating and swimming. Our trail networks provide ample walking, cycling and hiking opportunities. Niche recreational infrastructure is growing within the Town; we have a Jay Hoots designed pump and cycle track that allows users to challenge their bike skills. We also have the small ski hill, Mount Molson, a great place to begin your downhill ski or snowboarding journey.

The Town of Petawawa has received recent complaints regarding youth operating dirt bikes on municipal roads.

Parents are reminded to ensure your children are operating dirt bikes in accordance with both provincial and municipal regulations.

Dirt bikes must also be operated in accordance with O. Reg. 316/03: Operation of Off-Road Vehicles on Highways https://www.ontario.ca/laws/regulation/030316

Dirt bikes and other Off-Road vehicles are not permitted to operate on the following Petawawa roads: Garwin Street (portion south-west of Petawawa Boulevard), Leeder Lane, Len Hopkins Drive, Paquette Road, Petawawa Boulevard (from 2991 Petawawa Boulevard north-west to Paquette Road), Sharon Street (portion south-west of Petawawa Boulevard), and Water Tower Road.

The Ontario Ministry of Transportation (MTO) is hosting a public open house today regarding the Highway 17 Arnprior to Renfrew Twinning Project.

With many residents expressing interest in the project timeline and future plans for this important transportation corridor, this is an opportunity to hear directly from ministry staff, learn about the work completed to date, upcoming milestones, and ask questions about the project.
