As the 2026 navigation season winds down, we want to extend a heartfelt thank you to everyone who joined us on the water. 🛥️🛶

A special thank you to those who participated in the Canada Strong Initiative, taking advantage of free lockage and reduced camping fees from June 19 to September 7. 🍁

Your enthusiasm, support, and shared experiences helped make this season one to remember and showcased the strength of our communities from start to finish. ❤️

⚠️ End of Season Operations ⚠️

Be advised that the Trent-Severn Waterway’s 44 lockstations located between Trenton and Port Severn will close for the season on October 13, following the Thanksgiving long weekend.

Parks Canada encourages the public to use caution in and around the waterway structures and channels over the winter months. From Thanksgiving to Victoria Day (mid-October to mid-May, lockstations will be closed and the use of the waterway will be at one’s own risk. Unmarked hazards may exist.

Wet leaves, ice, and snow may remain on stairs and walkways, and ice conditions on the waterway can vary. Boaters are advised that during the non-navigation season, aids to navigation may be missing, off-station, or inoperable until next spring.

We would like to thank all visitors and look forward to welcoming you again in 2027.

Parks Canada advises the public that the Swift Rapids Road access to Lock 43 – Swift Rapids will be closed from October 13 to November 13 for essential lock infrastructure maintenance. Vehicular and pedestrian access across the lock will also be restricted during this time.

The closure will begin each Monday at 9:00 a.m., with access across the lockstation restored by 5:00 p.m. each Friday.

Parks Canada advises that the Ranney Falls Swing Bridge, located at 15 Trent Drive in Campbellford, Ontario, will be closed to vehicular and pedestrian traffic from Monday, October 5, 2026, through Wednesday, October 7, 2026, inclusive.

This closure is necessary to complete required maintenance, including a full re-decking of the bridge. Boat traffic will not be affected by the closure.

🚣‍♀️ Head of the Trent returns October 3 and 4! 🚣

This year marks the 55th anniversary of the Peterborough Rowing Club, and more than 400 rowers will be heading to Peterborough for the annual Head of the Trent regatta. 🤩

This two-day event welcomes rowers of all ages, from club and university teams across the region. Stop by to watch exciting races, cheer on the competitors, and celebrate the dedication and hard work of these incredible athletes. 💪
