Congratulations to the Peterborough Lawn Bowling Club on an incredible 125 years of history, tradition and community! 🎉

It was a real pleasure for Applewood Retirement Residence to be a proud sponsor of this very special milestone celebration, providing lunch for more than 50 lawn bowlers and guests.

What a wonderful afternoon celebrating a club with such a rich history and the people who continue to keep this wonderful tradition alive and thriving.

🌹 What a beautiful afternoon of creativity at Applewood! 🎨

Yesterday, Applewood Retirement Residence had the pleasure of hosting a wonderful Acrylic Single Rose Painting Class led by the incredibly talented renowned local artist and instructor, Valerie Kent.

Valerie guided a class of more than 20 artists, from those picking up acrylics for the very first time to experienced painters. And what a beautiful reminder that there is no “right” way to create art — each rose was completely unique, and every painting had its own special beauty.

There was plenty of creativity, laughter and, of course, a wonderful time had by all!

A heartfelt thank you to Valerie for sharing her talent, expertise and enthusiasm with us. We look forward to the next one! ❤️

What a wonderful morning connecting with so many local businesses and professionals who share a passion for supporting seniors!

Thank you to everyone who joined us for our Morning Mingle at Applewood Retirement Residence. It was great to learn more about the services available in our community, make new connections, and strengthen existing ones.

When healthcare professionals and retirement living teams are connected, seniors and their families benefit.

Strong communication and collaboration between hospitals, healthcare partners, and retirement communities can make such an important difference when a senior is ready to take the next step in their journey.

Applewood was pleased to bring a Lunch & Learn to Belleville General Hospital, connecting with discharge planners, social workers, nurses, and flow coordinators to share information, build relationships, and better understand how we can support seniors and their families.

When everyone involved understands what resources and options are available, it helps families navigate the healthcare and retirement living systems with greater confidence, and can make the transition from hospital to retirement living feel smoother, more supported, and more positive.

We are grateful for the opportunity to connect with such a dedicated group of healthcare professionals and to continue building partnerships that put seniors and their families at the centre of everything we do.

Applewood Retirement Residence was proud and pleased to sponsor Sunday's Peterborough Lawn Bowling Club Open Tournament. It was a fantastic day filled with fun, food, friendship, and fabulousness!

Applewood's culinary team prepared a beautiful, fresh luncheon that was enjoyed by players and volunteers alike, and we were honoured to sponsor this special gathering. A heartfelt thank you goes to our talented culinary team member, Melissa, whose artfully presented several gorgeous platters were truly an impressive highlight!

Congratulations to the incredible volunteers at the Peterborough Lawn Bowling Club for organizing such a smooth and successful event. These wonderful events don't happen by magic, they are made possible through dedication, coordination, collaboration, and a great deal of hard work. Thank you for everything you do!

Knowledge is empowering! Especially when it helps us maintain our independence! 🚘

We were thrilled to welcome Kevin, co-owner of Peterborough Driving School, a trusted local business serving the Peterborough community for more than 25 years, to Applewood Retirement Residence for an engaging Seniors Driving Seminar.

Kevin shared valuable information on what to expect when preparing for driver’s licence renewal beginning at age 80 and every two years thereafter. From current regulations to practical tips and helpful tools, attendees left feeling better informed and more confident about staying safe, alert, and independent on the road.

A sincere thank you to Kevin for an informative presentation and to everyone who joined us. It’s always a pleasure to bring educational opportunities like this to our residents and members of the community.

On a sizzling Wednesday, we thought a little refreshment was the perfect way to say thank you for all you do to support seniors and their families.

What a beautiful day we had for our Classic Car Show at Applewood! ☀️🚗

Our residents enjoyed an incredible lineup of vehicles, from stunning vintage classics to sleek new models. Each car had its own story, charm, and sparked great conversations and plenty of admiration.

It was a wonderful afternoon filled with sunshine, connection, and community. Thank you to everyone who helped make the day so special!

Join us at Applewood Retirement Residence on Tuesday, July 9 from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. for a Senior’s Driving Seminar where the Peterborough Driving School will help you prepare for your license renewal.

This helpful session is designed for seniors who want to feel informed, prepared, and confident when it comes to driving safely and understanding Ontario’s license renewal process for drivers 80+.

Guests will learn more about license renewal requirements, road rules and refresher tips, and awareness and safety behind the wheel.

The seminar will take place in the Applewood Theatre Room at 1500 Lansdowne St. W, Peterborough.
