Neighbors and friends: We've made the decision to postpone our upcoming Open House at Applewood Retirement Residence.

We're sorry to miss you this time around! Life has a way of rearranging the calendar, and we'd rather give you the full, unhurried experience you deserve!

A wonderful morning at PASE & GAIN Senior Care Clinics with our very popular, and (dare I say increasingly coveted?) 😉 Applewood swag bags in hand for our valued care partners!

Pictured with me are Pharmacist Kristen and Client Scheduling Coordinator Gail, the first two in the office to enjoy the goodies! 🎁😊

And it’s not just the fun goodies! I was also happy to share information about the services and support Applewood provides to seniors and their families. Building strong relationships with our community care partners means we can connect seniors with the resources, care and services they need, when they need them.

GAIN Clinic is such a valuable resource for our seniors and our community, and I’m always happy to collaborate with organizations who share our commitment to helping seniors continue to enjoy life with dignity, richness and joy.

Congratulations to the Peterborough Lawn Bowling Club on an incredible 125 years of history, tradition and community! 🎉

It was a real pleasure for Applewood Retirement Residence to be a proud sponsor of this very special milestone celebration, providing lunch for more than 50 lawn bowlers and guests.

What a wonderful afternoon celebrating a club with such a rich history and the people who continue to keep this wonderful tradition alive and thriving.

A very special congratulations to President Dale Chilvers, the volunteers, and everyone at the Peterborough Lawn Bowling Club for a memorable and successful celebration!

🌹 What a beautiful afternoon of creativity at Applewood! 🎨

Yesterday, Applewood Retirement Residence had the pleasure of hosting a wonderful Acrylic Single Rose Painting Class led by the incredibly talented renowned local artist and instructor, Valerie Kent.

Valerie guided a class of more than 20 artists, from those picking up acrylics for the very first time to experienced painters. And what a beautiful reminder that there is no “right” way to create art — each rose was completely unique, and every painting had its own special beauty.

There was plenty of creativity, laughter and, of course, a wonderful time had by all!

A heartfelt thank you to Valerie for sharing her talent, expertise and enthusiasm with us. We look forward to the next one! ❤️

What a wonderful morning connecting with so many local businesses and professionals who share a passion for supporting seniors!

Thank you to everyone who joined us for our Morning Mingle at Applewood Retirement Residence. It was great to learn more about the services available in our community, make new connections, and strengthen existing ones.

By getting to know one another and building strong relationships, we can better support seniors and their families by sharing resources and recommending trusted local businesses that can help meet their needs.

When healthcare professionals and retirement living teams are connected, seniors and their families benefit.

Strong communication and collaboration between hospitals, healthcare partners, and retirement communities can make such an important difference when a senior is ready to take the next step in their journey.

Applewood was pleased to bring a Lunch & Learn to Belleville General Hospital, connecting with discharge planners, social workers, nurses, and flow coordinators to share information, build relationships, and better understand how we can support seniors and their families.

When everyone involved understands what resources and options are available, it helps families navigate the healthcare and retirement living systems with greater confidence, and can make the transition from hospital to retirement living feel smoother, more supported, and more positive.

We are grateful for the opportunity to connect with such a dedicated group of healthcare professionals and to continue building partnerships that put seniors and their families at the centre of everything we do.
