❗️💧WATER SHUT OFF 💧❗️

To all Residents,


Due to required upgrades to the Town’s water infrastructure system, necessary water shut offs will occur in the community next week as follows:


🗓️ Tuesday October 27, 2026- All of Petty Harbour will be without water from 9am to 5pm.



🗓️ Wednesday October 28, 2026- All of Maddox Cove will be without water from 9am to 5pm.



Residents are asked to notify any tenants of this notice and those that do not receive emails notices from the Town.


Please draw off water as necessary to be prepared before water is shut off.



Once water restored, a boil water advisory will be in place. A notice will be sent to residents once the boil water advisory has ended.



In the case of water discolouration once restored, please run outdoor water taps.

📣❗️Notice to Residents – Sanitary Sewer Smoke Testing


The Town of Petty Harbour-Maddox Cove has hired BioMaxx Environmental to complete sanitary sewer smoke testing on October 20, 21 and 22, 2026.


The purpose of this study is to find leaks, cross-connections and damaged sewer infrastructure. BioMaxx crews will work their way through the community, pumping a special harmless, non-damaging smoke into the sewer system and recording any cross-connections or problems they find along the way.


The smoke is non-toxic, leaves no residue and is not a fire hazard. You may see smoke coming from roof vents, manholes or the ground. This is normal and expected.



🚫Smoke should not enter your home unless there is a cross-connection or a defect in your plumbing. If smoke does enter your home, open a window or door and it should clear within about 30 seconds. To help prevent this, run water into any floor drains or sinks that aren't used often, so the drain traps are full.

⏰Council Meeting Submission Deadline⏰

Applications, submissions or requests to speak for Town Council Meeting's are to be submitted by 12:00pm on the Thursday before the meeting.

The upcoming Town Council meeting (Monday, October 19th) would require submissions to be in to the Town Office by the Thursday, October 15th at 12:00pm.

Petty Harbour–Maddox Cove Playground Renewal Project

On behalf of your Petty Harbour Maddox Cove Recreation Committee

Dear Residents,

We are looking for residents of Petty Harbour–Maddox Cove who would be interested in getting involved in a Playground Renewal Project for our community.
Our goal is to work toward replacing and renewing the playground so that we can provide a safe, fun, and welcoming space for children and families in our community.

To make this project a success, we will need a group of volunteers who are willing to help with planning, organizing, fundraising, community outreach, and other aspects of the project.

This will be a separate volunteer group from the Recreation Committee, with its focus specifically on moving the playground renewal project forward. You do not need to be a member of the Recreation Committee to get involved.

Whether you have experience organizing events, fundraising, applying for grants, working with businesses, planning projects, or simply have some time and ideas to contribute, we would love to hear from you.
There will be many ways to get involved, and even small contributions of time and ideas can make a big difference.

TO ALL RESIDENTS

As Council begins planning for the upcoming 2027 Municipal Budget and looking ahead to the next few years, we would like to hear from our residents about the priorities that matter most to our community


Like many Municipalities, the Town of Petty Harbour-Maddox Cove must balance community needs and priorities with available resources and rising costs. While there may be limited flexibility within the budget for new projects or initiatives, your feedback is still an important part of helping Council determine where to focus.


We invite residents to share thoughts on the following questions.
- what town services are most important?

- what should Council consider a priority over the next two to three years?

- if funding becomes available for future projects, where would you like to see it directed?



While the Town has existing financial commitments and responsibilities that must be accommodated each year, Budget planning is not only deciding about what can be done this year, but also about identifying what is important to residents so Council can plan for the future.

Council may not be able to immediately prioritize submissions for completion but Council will consider all submissions in planning a way forward.
