The Town of Petty Harbour-Maddox Cove is pleased to confirm that the needed repairs to Long Run Rd & Main Rd are scheduled to be completed this year.

We ask residents & visitors to our community to have patience during the construction period, remembering the results the temporary inconvenience will bring.

The Town would like to thank our local MHA Loyola O'Driscoll MHA - Ferryland District for the support in having these areas addressed.

I wanted to take a moment to highlight two additional road projects that have been approved for the Ferryland District this year.

Town Of Bay Bulls: A 4.7 km section from the City Limits to Ryan's Lane.

Town of Petty Harbour-Maddox Cove: A 4 km section from Crocker's Road to the second intersection of Old Maddox Cove Road.

These investments by our government will help improve the safety and condition of our roads for all of us who travel throughout our communities.

I am expecting work to begin soon, and I look forward to seeing these important projects get underway.

I will also continue advocating for additional road work throughout the district, including brush cutting, shoulder work, and other projects that help keep our roads safe and well maintained.

As always, please reach out to discuss any questions you may have by calling: (709) 729-1390 or by emailing: [email protected]

To all residents,

As you may be aware, there have been a few acts of vandalism in our community over the last few weeks - to town structures and unfortunately to residents’ personal property.

While this has not always been a frequent occurrence in the Town of Petty Harbour-Maddox Cove, it is very concerning.

We ask that residents report any suspicious behaviour or any act of vandalism to the RNC.

Below is the link to the online reporting system, and calls can be placed to 1-709-729-8000.

Ensuring to report any suspicious behaviour helps determine where resources are needed.

Let’s work together keep our community safe and beautiful!

RNC online incident reporting is intended for non-emergency complaints. To use the online reporting system the incident must have occurred within the jurisdiction of the Royal Newfoundland Constabulary and does not require an immediate police response.

📣TO ALL RESIDENTS

The Town of Petty Harbour-Maddox Cove has seen an increase in the number of e-scooters being used by children in our community. Please talk to children about the importance of using these vehicles safely. ⚠️

Please see the below message from NL Health Services regrading e-bikes and e-scooters.

E-bikes and e-scooters are becoming a popular way to get around. While they can be fun and convenient, safety should always come first.

If you are using an e-bike or e-scooter, remember:

- Riders must be at least 16 years old.

- Always wear a properly fitted helmet and consider additional safety gear (e.g., reflective clothing).

- Follow the rules of the road and avoid busy streets and intersections.

- Stay alert! Avoid distractions like cellphones or headphones.

Injuries related to e-bikes and e-scooters are increasing. Together, we can help prevent injuries and keep our communities safe.
