The Township of Pickle Lake is located at the end of highway 599 in Ontario. There is something, exciting, about “the end of the road”; this phrase alone brings an image of wilderness. Our slogan of “The Last Frontier”, is truly the feeling that you get after you have traveled the distance to reach our community. Pickle Lake is at the end

of the paved road, however, you can continue traveling north on a gravel road for another several hours. We invite you to come and explore the vast untouched virgin Boreal forests. Our boundless wilderness and abundance of wildlife makes a trip to Pickle Lake perfect for hunting, fishing and other great outdoor adventures! Visit local camps, fly-in camps, or stay in town for rafting, canoeing and join in other festivities and activities with ‘Pickle Lakers‘, experience the true north of Ontario! The Township of Pickle Lake has approximately 450 local residents and is located at the northern tip of Highway 599.

**If you would like to volunteer at any one of our Blackfly Events, please join us at our FINAL planning meeting on Thursday night.

We are looking for help with:
Concession Sales and Food Prep (Friday and/or Saturday)
Games/Activity Facilitation (Saturday)
Security (Saturday afternoon and/or evening)

Looking for volunteers to help with setting up, facilitating games for children and youth, serving at the Concession Stand, etc.

This meeting will also be to discuss future plans for those who wish to be involved beyond Blackfly.

Volunteer Meeting Notice: Monday, August 24th, 2026 @ the Community Hall.

Looking for volunteers to help facilitate activities next weekend (Sept. 4-6) for Blackfly! And a TEAM of dedicated community members interested in planning future Community Events for our town 😎. Show up tonight @ 6:30pm if this sparks your curiosity.

Many Blackfly Events have been confirmed, but there is room for so much more fun and entertainment if we can find some extra hands. The official Blackfly Event Schedule will be posted on Friday.
